why isn't mylot as successful like other social sites

I don't feel that MyLot is 'unsuccessful' and nor am I concerned about it. Although it has social functions it is NOT like Facebook, MySpace or Orkut, in other words, it is NOT a social site in the way that they (and many other such sites) are. MyLot is a DISCUSSION site which rewards its users according to the quality of their participation. It is therefore rather specialised and anyone who tries to use it in the same way as a social site will probably be very disappointed. MyLot's membership is increasing daily. I ran a daily check earlier this year and found that, on average, about 50 new people were joining every day. Of course, the ACTIVE membership - by which I mean the number of people who visit and post even occasionally - is very much smaller than the (almost) 230,000 shown at the bottom of the page. I seriously doubt if it is even 5% of that figure.

I guess it depends on the level of success one is referring to. myLot has been around now for five years and has an impeccable record for paying each and every month provided members reach the payout. Where as facebook is a social networking site and myLot is a discussion forum. No doubt they differ one from the other and some prefer myLot while others prefer facebook.

I like mylot more than any other social sites because I'm compensated every time I join discussions. And it is user friendly unlike other pay per post site.

My friend looking for a successful in one thing that are many ways how you can. Might be mylot is not successful compare to others like FB through population yeah the questions are there seems that mylot is paying social sites. However, if you can see the other side like satisfaction, learning, friendship relationship here in mylot is the safest compared to others, I'm sure about that. So the bottom line is there is part not successful but some part are very successful - Are you happy with mylot? If you answer is yes - successfull in that part.. see you around

some factors may explain this anomaly: 1. Facebook is much much more popular and interesting than mylot. fb has status updates, pictures, videos, comments, funny quizzes, locator, events from people whom mostly we have been knowing for long time and have been very close with. nowadays almost everyone has fb and they have been using fb to communicate important news, events, updates, pictures, videos, etc. it has been widely used by various people, background, age, etc. 2. mylot is categorized as money-making social sites. people already have negative image of this kind of website due to many lies, fraud, scams, illegitimate similar websites. 3. there are many boring topics of discussion on mylot. usually it's about fantasy. for example: what would you do if you got this, had this, or other things which are mere fantasy. sometimes it's fun to answer these topics but will be boring if we found this everyday. other boring topic is about everyday life problems which actually we already know the answers by using our simple common sense.

I'm not really sure. I have wandered about th same thing myself. I try to get people tocome to Mylot and tell them it is alot like Myspace and Facebook, etc. and they can earn here but they are not interested.

I'm in the same boat as you about social networking sites, I don't know why people waste their time so much on sites like facebook and twitter when they could be using sites like peoplestring and mylot and be making money for what ever they may be doing to spend their time. I think that a lot of people might be hesitant or don't even care to join because it's an online earning site as well as social networking and because of there being so many scams around a lot of people probably just write this site off as a scam. In my opinion mylot is a way better site then facebook mainly because you can actually have discussions on here that make your brain work and make you think about how you truly feel about things. Facebook really isn't a challenge to my thought process and I just can't seem to really be all that entertained from staring at people's profiles and liking people's statuses. The worst part about it is that you can be completely wasting your time on facebook not even talking to your friends or anything and you literally will gain nothing. So while some people are sitting around dinking on Farmville, I'll be here at mylot earning a little cash and try to engage myself in people's discussions and issues that they need help resolving.

To me, popularity is not really the best indicator of quality. And myLot is really something that is at about the level that it should be at. There are a lot of times where if a lot of people are going to use the website, there are going to be many people who are not going to contribute anything whatsoever to this community. The community is diverse, but it is the moderate amount of people that we have right here. If there were as many people here, as there were at Facebook, I think that it would really kind of have a lot more people disregarding guidelines and making rubbish topics. Facebook is what it is and myLot is what it is too. I think that myLot has a lot more validity, as it actually leads to people thinking and making quality discussions. While myLot is a lot of people just posting what flavor jam they had on their toast this morning. Nothing wrong with that but not for me. I think that myLot is actually a website that requires some thought and some effort to be put into the process of posting here. Facebook is just a fun waste of time and to socialize without having to think too much.

I think both mylot and facebook are popular.but facebook is more popular than mylot,it has games and different apps,people like to chat with their friends and communicate to their age group people,so most of us finds facebook as best for it.where as mylot is a discussion forum and mostly people join to earn some money here but later on they find this site more interesting than facebook and all.i love this site and facebook too as i like to play poker on facebook very much.

I also think Mylot is much better than Facebook and any other social sites and I really don't understand why it hasn't more users;one explanation may be that Mylot makes you think to give meaningful answers,and many people want something very easy and relaxing,and Facebook and other social sites give them this opportunity.Anyway,regardless of any statistics,Mylot is for me the best social site in the world and I think it will remain in this position for a very long time.

I am trying to spend their free time here. Because there are many sites that do not worth even to enter. Since I am Maylot enter at any convenient time. For me is very nice because I can collect and exchange information and also to win. just a wonderful site. I think it is quite successful Maylot site. i think people will rather spend time in socializing and chatting with their friends without doing nothing aside from communicating because some people bore for what they really do, maybe it is because Mylot is not a social network to them its a kind of forum... and aside from it mylot is lack of design and multimedia features like no other social sites like facebook. and one more thing here in Mylot you should consider two states, one is social sites and one is marketing to earn money so with that people are confuse which will be to prioritize the earnings or the friends and comfort of the sites.

I love My Lot and it is my favorite place to be. I deleted my Face Book account because it to me seems like a terrible place to be all the profanity and I don't know how they can even be successful at all? I find this is a great site to be on right here and what you can earn here is all up to you. and your time put here. I know there is more sites like this but this one for me is the one I trust and I have been paid so I don't have to worry about getting paid and also there are a lot of wonderful people here.

Maybe the popularity of the site. I joined facebook because they are offering games and many applications. And also the age has a factor. There are so many member in facebook that is teens. they love to play and interact other people. Facebook is also user friendly the user interface is easily to use compared to mylot. Just my opinion.
