I have just registered with Helium today. I am hoping that I can write for another website that do offer upfront payment. So far, I can see this feature from both Helium and Factoidz.
What I can say right now is that Factoidz is nice because there are bonus just by simply submitting your articles. It's just hard to be approved though. That's why to this day I only have 17 articles.
Those from Helium, can you share your experience? Is it easier to be approved. What types of writings do they like ?

That's great that you've joined Helium. Helium requires more serious writing. You cannot write using the first person perspective unless using the first person perspective adds to the content. The only exception is in the Creative Writing channel where you can use the first person perspective.

I have been a member of Helium for quite a while and I have quite a few articles published there too including works of fiction. In terms of earning an income thus far I have found it extremely difficult. Unless you have lots and lots of people actually looking for and reading your articles then it's quite difficult to make any kind of substantial income. I wish you well with Helium, it is a good website overall.
I don't know anything about Factoidz although I have just checked out their website and it seems fine although they seem to be quite stringent on who they accept to become writers for them. Another site that you could join is Triond, I think this is a good writing site and I also have a few articles published there as well. Again, you need to be writing a lot and submitting a lot of new articles and in time I think an income may be possible. Andrew
