I just got home and learned about something that has taken place. They are cutting down on the use of night lights at football and other team sport games here because the light at night distracts the sheerwater birds. I am completely against this, I do not believe we need to cut down on life and cut down on opportunity for kids that keep them active when not to much is available on the island. I hate the protecting of animals and endangered species over quality of life or even human life for that matter. In some instances when fires occurred there was no water in time to save lives because the nearest water source had a endangered animal in it. This is stupid not to mention animals die out, this is natural it is a part of life and part of evolution so let nature run its course rather than playing god and trying to disrupt cycles.

nesting is important for the cycle of life, here at the beach when some bireds are nesting they rope off parts of the dunes to prevent people from disturbing, but aftet that season they take the ropes down, I also have a hanging flower pot out side my door that finches have now made nest in. but they will be gone in a few months so I let them be. :)

See I don't agree with things like this, like sealing off sections of beach to protect monk seals this is dumb too they are not even indigenous to Hawaii. Animals don't have priority over human life especially if they are not to smart. Do we protect turkeys? no but they drown themselves in rain, if Sheerwaters can't handle light then too bad.

all life is deserving of being protected, the animals were actually here before we were, so its only kind to make sure they dont go extinct.

They won't the change and adapt if suitable to live it is known as evolution. Animals have all gone extinct it is natural not our matters, and doesn't matter or not if they were here first plus that is not proven too, not to mention if it is more true then we evolved though we can survive if one cannot then oh well.
