What is that star before your name?

I'm just curious what is that star, with a number inside, that is placed before your name here in mylot? I have a yellow star with number 7 on it. Then, the others i can see that they have posted a lot already but only have 3 stars?
Please enlighten me. Thanks.

The star before your name reflects your reputation here as a member. That is supposedly reflective of the quality of post you are contributing to mylot as percieved by the other members. It is the summary of the ratings given to you by other members of the community as mysdianait correctly pointed out above. It is reflective also of the earnings you'll be receiving per post. I'm just wondering why the number appears to you as seven. It is number eight which is color yellow. I can see from my screen that your rating is 8.

The stars are updated every day at about this time.
That is not grey 
it is shining silver! 
It will go back up just like it went down. Maybe everyone is testing to see which one suits you best

Now it just turned red and went from 8 to 9. Congratulations.

And mine suddenly went down to 7. From yellow it then went to grey.

Hi, jasmin. Thanks for your discussion. I haven't been able to check the rules and regulations here in mylot and until now, in my four years, I still have no idea what the star is before our names.
So thank you for coming up with this discussion. At least, us lotters who didn't check the mylot manual would just read your discussion.

Hi Jasmin... It's good that you brought this up because even me until now I have no idea about stars, colors and numbers inside the star... I have been here for quite sometime and my color is not changing and star and number despite having replied and posted for so many many times...
