how do you pack when you move to a new house by plane?

I've never had to move to a place I couldn't drive to. Now I'm moving to an island so i'm trying to be very sparing with what I keep. I've sold so many of my things, but what I can't get rid of for a profit is my golf clubs. Someone told me it shouldn't be too expensive to take them on the flight with me if they aren't too heavy. I haven't been using them lately but I think there could be a chance that I would use them eventually. But they aren't very expensive so I'm wondering if I should just give them away. Have you ever had trouble taking things with you on a plane like this? I don't know if it is worth the extra cost.

Hi there,
What I would suggest is that anything you can live without, to simply either donate and or try to sell. Reason why I am saying is that why go through the extra expense for things you can get again and or live without.
I did actually almost donate my entire home furnishings, I did so to a family who lost everything in a fire. I was moving in withe my boyfriend and he has an apartment filled with things. Therefore, I did not want to pay storage for things I did not plan on using later.
Good luck with your move and your graduation as well.

I am not sure about where you are, but airlines here in Australia allow you to take sporting goods for free on a flight. I know people who have packed things in a golf bag before to avoid extra weight charges. I flew to an island last year for an archery competition and there were loads of us with all these heavy cases, but we did not get charged any extra for them.
