Does everybody have it?

I often feel like I know what to do or not do according to my sixth sense. So much so that it seems to be how I decide to do things now. I try to get a "feeling" about it and then make up my mind to go with what feels good.
I very often will know if someone is not a very nice person and I can thank my sixth sense for it. Its like I just know there is something not right with that person.
It also saved me from having my roof done by the wrong contractor, buy the wrong car, rush to get somewhere only to find out that I might have been in an accident if I had rushed to leave.
Do you have a sixth sense? Has it serve you right and save you from grief over the years? Do you rely on it?

When i was younger, something weird happend to me once. I was at school (9 years old) and the teacher was choosing randomly pupil and asked them a question one by one. I sat near my best friend and suddenly i had a weird feeling that I know who's next - what boy or girl the teacher is going to choose (randomly..). I told it to him and i was right. Then i felt who is next and i was right again. and then again and again with no mistakes - almost 20 times! I was shocked and he was too. I won't forget this moment. I don't have an explanation how i knew it but i did.
But this is almost the only time that something like that happend to me.
Most of the times this sixth sense led me down. It's funny that it worked just in so unimportant situation....:)
But I believe that there are people who have it - that's for sure!

Strange indeed that it would be so strong at that moment, never to happen again. But then again, maybe if you were in a similar situation, maybe it would.
Lets hope you get it back then.
Thank you for sharing this experience with us!!

I don't have such sixth sense with me, but sometimes, I felt things might happen, but I couldn't say whether it is right or wrong. Because I don't believe my own gut feeling that much though. Anyway, I can tell whether somebody is bad or good person by their daily relation and activities. I made a wrong decision to know this person who con me a lot of money by start a business with him. My fault, and my worst mistake.

Im so sorry you were conned and lost a lot of money. Well they say we have to make mistakes so we can learn from them. Im sure you wont be conned again ever!!
Now you'll know what a con man is like and you'll feel it in your gut.
Thanks for sharing your experience!!

I'm not really good at using my intuition. I don't even know how to use it. But my mom is so good with intuition and it has save her many times when it comes to people who can't be trusted. So pretty much it did well to her.
They all say everyone has sixth sense. It just needs to be awaken. I don't how but I think it will be a good idea for me that it should remain on it's hibernation.
Good discussion, Bubbles.

Haha, so you'd rather keep yours in hibernation then. Im sure when you really need it, it'll show up to help you.
Good for your mom to know how to use it and listen to it.

i guess everyone has it to an extent but maybe too little to be powerful or self aware, sometime it is more of intuition and past experience of stuffs that is going to happen and such. Some few factors appearing can cause a dev javu to happen and maybe mistaken as 6th sense. For me, i guess feeling of being followed or more careful when driving because of dangerous cross section or junction or the looks of the car being driven in front or behind is cause of concern and danger.

Yes I think you're right about it being from experience or deja vu. I also have a sense about other cars around me if they'll cut me off or stop suddenly. You sound like you listen to yours. I try to also haha!!

Everyone has it, but a lot of people ignore it because that's how society "trains" people.
I trust my instincts, I guess you could call it a sixth sense, but I just refer to those types of feelings as instinctual ones. Those have developed over thousands of years to help protect us. The world has changed, but that doesn't mean it's any less dangerous, physically or emotionally. I think people would do well to trust themselves more.

Yes Ive read that somewhere that we sort of carry a memory of past times, when it was dangerous with animals attacking humans. Of course I think its still as dangerous now and our instincts or sixth sense is very useful. Indeed, we need to trust ourselves more.
Good for you to trust yourself and listen to that little voice.

Is that sixth sense really? For me, I consider that wisdom. I think wisdom is something that is far beyond mere intelligence. It gives us insights and understanding of things.

Im not sure what to call it, yes it can be wisdom acquired from past experience. Its not really important the name we give it, whats important I think, is to listen to that little voice inside!! Maybe thats why we make so many mistakes when we're younger....no past experience then.

As the first responder was saying, it is a gut instinct, more or less. I do follow mine, and when I do not follow it, I find I regret it. I read somewhere that science has now detected some special receptors in our stomach that do give us bad feelings or good feeling about things. Others have called this intuition, and it also exists. Women use it more than men. Intuition is when you mentally file away information that you note subconsciously, but you bring it back up when you need it. It is important to do this and to listen to your gut or your intuition.

Oh so they found that it DOES exist and its not just a figment of our imagination. Yes it does happen in the stomach. Ive also regretted not listening to my "gut feeling" and now I sure do. I had to this morning when I wanted to buy something and I picked someone in the yellow pages, called and one guy didnt sound right, I could sort of feel it in my stomach, so called another lol.
Thank you for sharing GG!

I am not sure whether I have a sixth sense. Sometimes, I can sense that something is wrong. However it doesn't work all the time. So I don't rely on that.
Before I read a book, saying that sixth sense is actually built on your experience. The more experience you have, the better it works. It also said that somehow sixth sense is how you want things to be.

Makes sense that the more experience we have, the better its working. I know that at times I sure want something to go a certain way but my gut feeling says its not right thats when at times, Id be tempted to not listen to it but I still do now.

While it's not something that I experience on a regular basis, from time to time I feel that I know which way to choose, just from a gut feeling.

I think Im like you, at times its as if its asleep and even thought I try to "feel" it, it wont let me guess whats right or wrong.
Lets hope we both have more active intuition then.
Thank you!!

Call it sixth sense, intuition or insight. We all have it .Only we should listen to it more.In our life we are trained by circumstances to put up with difficult people and circumstances. This makes us lose a bit of our intuition, but we can rely on our senses to guide us in our right direction.

Same with me I do get the gut feeling quite a bit and in the past when I did not act on it instantly I would find that it would not result properly for me. I have since learned that my gut needs to be listened to, whether I am right or wrong because later I do not have the feeling of regrets.

I think some people have a sixth sense and some people don't. I think a sixth sense has more to do with intuition, having a good one and a bad one. I think I have a bad intuition.

Really? So you dont get that weird feeling in your stomach when you sort of sense that something is not right or someone is trying to sell you something you dont need??
Maybe you need to listen more carefully to your body.......or maybe you just dont have it. I dont think everybody has it.

Hey, I think a lot of us recognize this. I call the sixth sence for stomach sence. Because the feeling lays in my stomach. I also sometimes feel like someone has decided this to be how it is. That things doesn't happens random, that it is a meaning. If you like this kind of stuff you should really watch some series that involves this type of topic.
Thanks,
Sourcern
