Doesn't anyone think that playing poker for money is a good way to get extra income. I've been playing for a little while and noticed I'm pretty good winning chips and such. So now I'm wondering if its a good idea to put some money into it to be able to win alot back. What do you think?

Welcome! My husband always wants me to play Texas Holdem' at the casinos. My family actually thinks I'm pretty good at it. I won't even consider it. Just imagine you are bluffing and you've placed the bill money on the table and you LOSE. Now what do you do? My guess is trying to find more cash to try another hand. Playing for money can be a dangerous game. No longer fun. I would think twice about playing for money if I were you. You could lose everything home, car and your family. Best Wishes!

I completely understand how the game works. Problem is, I know I would sit down start playing and not want to quit until I was broke. I live on the edge sometimes. This is an edge I don't think I should live on. Best Wishes!

The main rule of poker is only bet the amount of money that you can afford to lose. If you only bet what you can lose, you are never going to lose your bill money. You need to have bankroll managament otherwise you are never going to be a winner player.

NO No.I found from wikipedia that Poker games are betting games. Pl do not get into that trap. In fact my father spoilt his life on account of this gambling tendency. thanks to God and the efforts of my mother, uncle and grand mother we could improve our fortunes. I know you may get angry over me for this suggestion. But I sincerely feel this suggestion is very useful one for you. Ok. Now I am going out for walking with my wife. wish you happy day

It's funny how everyone have a sad history about a relative that lost a lot of money gambling. But, I always said that if he lost the money, someone won the money. The thing is that you only can bet the amount of money that you can afford to lose.

The problem is it is difficult for people to decide the limit. my father could not decide it and hence we were in problems.

That's the main problem, sometimes people think that they can recover the money lost playing higher limits. That's a vicious cycle. :(

I have played on some online poke platforms in the past. The thing is, to make money out of this you need some skill and a lot of luck and patience, especially if you play in low cash or tournament games. Those are full of "donks",people ignorant to the game who will play like crazy any given hand and who ruin the game and diminish significantly your chances at winning.

For me, the most important thing to do is study the game. A lot people think that poker is only about luck, but definitely not. A winner poker player need to have skills and patience. In the long run, luck is not the main factor.

Poker mostly is about luck, so you cant be sure if you're going to win, of course math and memory is usefull too, because you need to remember what cards was already played and then you need to calculate probability of getting cards you need
but personally i wouldn't go for it, you can loose lots of money

Maybe you should try to start your poker bankroll playing freerolls (free tourneys that you don't have to pay anything to play). I think poker is the best way to win an extra money online and surely is they way that you are going to win more money.
But, if you want to put your own money, you should study the game first and know everything about bankroll management.
