How truly Free are You?

Freedom may refer to many things...basically it refers to the ability to make choices...it may also mean political freedom which focuses on the context of the relationship of the individual to the state...and also let's not forget economic freedom which depending on how economically-free you are, this kind of freedom somehow can affect both your free will and political freedom.... But how truly free are you from the limits imposed by your family and friends, by the society in general, by the government, by your religion and most of all, how free are you from the self-imposed constraints you consciously or unconsciously hold and cherish? I guess the best definition of freedom is from the individual himself...and while you are pondering what freedom means to you on a personal level, consider this powerful IDEA...If you can describe what freedom means to you based on how you experience it...you can also REDEFINE its meaning which will eventually redefine how you experience freedom..so it's up to you how limited or expansive the scope of your freedom is....Remember You have the power Within to change the big mirror we call Life....so enjoy creating... :)

Freedom
Free-Dom
My Free Domain my space which is everywhere i go, it is a place where i now exist and noboby can control it, there is no government that controls my freedom because why would they,? what kind of value would it have if i would listen to them and pay a bill?. (because that would be manipulation)
Its just for their amusement but if i know that i am a sovereign soul who incarnated just to learn here then why would i?
that would imply i have no responsibility's and that really nobody controls me.
What i want others to do tonight or when you have time look up in the sky on a cloudless day and see those stars, it is said that this universe is 16 billion+ years old why would it stay so empty for so long and then suddently we come?
was god perhaps bored or not skillfull enough?
no he wasnt, because we are all gods, we just have lost this temporary, because would you learn when you have all your abilities and knowledge from past lifes? well would you? (and believe me you have had so many lives on so many planets that it is just ridiculous to count :p)
Second look up and see that you have crossed all planets before and so the government tells people you are all free but can we really go further then climbing up a ladder and going on the roof? whats happening here?
well this is a place where all souls come who want to experience absolute limitation so that they learn extremely fast.
its hard to believe but thats how it is, so freedom is not yet achieved collectively but for every individual it cannot be a choice its a given.

Thank you for this very profound comment Original8. I love how you call freedom in an entirely new way, Free-Dom/Free Domain. Absolute limitation in this existence of ours right now, enables us to really push ourselves to the limit...so keep pushing and moving forward, for we can never fail, only prevail....Indeed, freedom is a given, an innate quality of our eternal existence...thank you for sharing Your Wisdom, Original8...

For me freedom means the freewill of being able to exercise my rights accompanied by a big responsibility of respecting the rights of others. I believe that I have always exercise my right to freedom of expressing myself individuality. I never constrained myself within the criticisms of others unless they are constructive ones.

Freedom for me is time for myself so that I can fulfil my own requirements i.e. I hv enough time to go for swim, paint, or go for window shopping. BUT however hard I may try, I am never free. Sometimes I rush to finish my work so that I can get some free time for myself. But by that I become so tired that I am unable to carry on what I had thought of doing in that free time.

Well, to me freedom means i can do things without thinking that someone will get hurt when i do it, or somebody will not like what i am doing.
As a married, career woman i have the freedom, to buy whatever i like to buy, as long as i have given my share in the financial obligation of sending our daughter to school. I also give that freedom to my husband as long as he has given us his financial obligations to us.
I have the freedom to rearrange our room, without my husband getting angry, because he leaves the decoration of our room , to me.
I am also free to go to my parents house anytime i would like to, as long as i informed my husband about it.
I guess, i am truly free.

Freedom is indeed a state of mind. Our mind is limitless and infinite. Truly we can choose our joy. Blessings to you :)

With what I would compare the freedom? Maybe a butterfly, a dragonfly, but for me freedom take the form of a horse, horse running free, with mane in the wind, as if run since it was created and will run until the world will be. Wild gallop of a horse is infinite, though there is nothing you can stop and no one can master. It's just him running alone or together with those with him. If you have ever seen a horse look tame, you'll see that is something sad, see the memory of freedom lost by many generations. I see only mad desire to run free endless plains. But it does not, perhaps because harness or attached to people too much and can not do alone.
But the memory of freedom in it, precluded it being his eternal suffering.
I think each of us has an acute sense of escape, to feel free, no matter where, just do it, to feel again the wind, to feel again like every muscle strain.
Freedom is the above than anything else.
Learn to respect the horses have to love them because they are some of the few beings in this world who try to be free.
