Hi! I just found out that my email has been sending spam emails to those in my contacts. I have received several emails which bounced back because it has been sent to inactive email address. What could have been the caused of it? Has my email been hacked? How shall I go about it? Will changing my password solve this problem? I have had that email since time in memorial and I don't want to loose it. I am afraid that one day I won't be able to just open it.

I'm having the same problem recently too. I just suspect my email have been hacked. Maybe somebody from the site we join trying their luck accessing our mail by using the information we gave them and use the same password we use to log in. Then once they succeed, they keep sending mail in our mailing list. Once they sent, they just delete all the mail in the sent mail folder. I just change the password for my email. So far, nothing happen like previously. Try to change your pasword.

hi marcmm! I had already changed my password after scanning my pc with CCleaner. Hopefully it works as my spammed/hacked account is my primary email address. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I would use Malwarebytes or Microsoft Security Essentials and run a full scan on your computer, then they will delete any viruse that might be on your hard drive.

I am also having the same problem and what's worse is that now I can't access that email. Good thing is that it is not the email I primarily use. It is really embarrassing whenever it sends spam to my contacts!

Looks like a lot of people have been having the same problem as mine lately. My account is with Yahoo. I hope it won't reach that point that I would be denied of access to my own email. It is my first ever email account and I have been using it as my primary email. It is really embarrassing receiving messages asking about the authenticity of the emails my address is sending. I've been messaged by most of my friends notifying me that my account is spamming theirs.
