Different kind of intelligence

I feel that the most intelligent people are those who can be expressive and creative. Several people unknowingly are intelligent but I attribute that as being intelligent in different ways. I feel most are intelligent depending on what areas they apply it to.

Some people are really talented in music, this is another kind of intelligence. When you have a talent you need to use your intelligence for this. So I agree with your statement. ALVARO

I agree, intelligence is more commonly seen as being book learning or knowledge, and skills in any area apart from this are not seen as intelligence. But this is the definition of the word, intelligence implies a certain fluency of thought and quickness of understanding. However, although the other kinds of skills you mention are not seen as intelligence, I believe that they are also very valuable, and can even be more valuable than intelligence. There is a common steretype of professors who are brilliant in matters of research in their subject, but who can barely take care of themselves because they are too busy living in a theoretical world. This suggests that there is a downside to intelligence.
