I am Indian. I was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, so Maharashtra is the state of my birth. I now live in Bangalore, so Karnataka, India is my state of residence. If you want to know my state of origin - my parents were Hindus and migrated from Sindh in Pakistan during partition. I am lucky that becasue of this I can speak -English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Sindhi, Kutchi, Gujarathi, Punjabi. I also understand Bengali and Rajasthani. I am now trying to learn Kannada and Tamil, bit I guess once you cross a particular age, language learning skills ebb, and South Indian languages are a little difficult to grasp for North Indians.
