I normally go to sleep 11 p.m. or 12 midnight then wake up at around 6 or 7 a.m. still sleepy. Last week was a bit different, I slept at around 12 midnight but woke up at around 5 a.m. feeling really energized. I wasn't sleepy anymore, like I was contented with the 5 hours of sleep. I wondered why? All I can think of was my position. I was sleeping in a straight body position which I normally don't do. Then it just hit me, was my sleeping position the reason I slept so good. To confirm my answer I spent the whole week sleeping in different positions every night. After a week I was right it was the position. Other positions like curling up, or turning sideways produced the same result. Only when I sleep in a straight body face up position can I wake up early and won't feel sleepy.
Have any of you encountered this kind of experience? Was your sleeping position the same or different than mine?

I hope to do more research on this cos in my case, I can sleep better sleeping on my stomach. I know us ladies should not sleep like that but that's my best position so far. On my stomach and I raise either left or right foot for support. I know it's not advisable cos it can cause my face to maybe sag or to have more wrinkles but this is my most comfortable position. :(
When I sleep face up, I feel like I can't breathe and I always have a headache upon waking up.

Actually I never check if my position giving me a deep sleep or not. When I start sleeping around 11pm usually straight position then I don't know next because I'm sleeping or else I will put a monitor to see my position. But if not sleepping all position might be I doing.. for getting sleep.. see you around

I have found that if I fall asleep on my back, rather than my stomach than I don't sleep nearly as well since I wake a lot. I have to sleep on my stomach, with my face facing the right with the fan blowing. I love sleeping with a fan.
