Why, oh why can't I put in more than three emoticons! It's not enough. Not enough at all to express all my emotions while answering discussions. Guys, do you feel the same way? Errr...do discussions evoke any feelings in you? What do you do when you want to many emotions in your posts but can only have 3? Do you just use LOL, ROFL, etc.? What else can we do???

I agree. Three smileys is so not enough! It's like 'No, I must express myself more!' Just...give me two more. Please? Anybody? Don't be shy! I'd love a donation!'

Well, as said by other lotters here, though we are limited as to the number of emoticons

I've waited for my 2ooth post before I can use the emoticons. Yep, being a beginner was so frustrating. But it was okay cause I get to be inspired in participating more often.

Hello hot_legs15. Yes, you have to reach your 200th post in order to use the emoticons and the text styles. Once you got them, you are only allowed 3 emoticons for each discussion, response and comment. Sorry if I'm being too busybody, even though it is address to sophiecheer. I hope I have helped you in some way.

Hi sophiecheer! How can I put emotions in my discussion soph? Do I need to reach some sort of level, before I can have them?

I love to use many emoticons too. And honestly I couldn't see any reason why should myLot restrict the number of emoticons that we may use.. I see asking myLot for improvement is kinda useless nowadays. I wonder when they're starting to listen members and making some improvements.. For now, I think you should use text based emoticon as substitute. Stuffs like :), :D, ^_^, ?, ?, :P, and such are actually kinda fun to be used too..

I guess Mylot is what it is, take it or leave it. But, this does not really stop us, because as I've learned from other lotters, even if I can use only 3 codes per post, I am not limited as to the number of posts I can make, right? So I could go on and on with my emotions as many as I can post!

You are not alone. I would like to use more emoticons too. Sometimes the discussion is so good that I would like to express more but I am only limited to use THREE. What do I do? Hmp! At first I was like, WHAT?!#%@*&^! Only three??? But now, I just live with three. Thank you so much for opening this up. I wish the same. More emoticons so the discussions will be more expressive and I could totally show how much I am affected by the topic being discussed. have a great day and hope this will lead us to something good.

Awww.. I am with you on that.. Even I love putting emoticons in all the discussions that I make and here we are allowed to put only three. But then the emotes here are really cute and a great way to express the feelings. If I am out of emotes to put in the discussion then I either make smileys or use abbreviations. But most of the time I try to utilize the three emotes that we get here.

I know I hate that we can only use 3 emotions it kind of sucks, I mean cause yeah there are sometimes that I would like to add more emoticons and then I'm like wait, I've already used 3 darn now what. . So yeah, after that I just add the short codes like the LOL, ROFL and so on like you have mentioned above. I wish we could use more though, it would be nice.

IKR?! The first time I was allowed to use emoticons, I used too much emoticons on my post, only to be disappointed later on because we are only allowed to use three . I didn't know yet that time that we are only allowed to use three. Anyway, now I try to live by that rule and choose which part of my post will I place the emoticons which are usually happy, lol, rofl, rasp and cheering.

I saw that. I am not sure how often you want to do so because youwon't be paid for that and it may be deleted depending, just my thought on it. I like your discussion though and agree that sometimes I could use more than 3 of these little pictures.

Lol, you totally brought me here when you linked me :P But I agree with you, this is part of the reasons why I love emoticons. Plus, I'm not always articulate in explaining myself through words/writing, so these emoticons actually helped a lot. I actually want to use one right now, but i don't even know how to do it manually, alas :/

hi gloryacam me too and I often get carried away only to be told you have more than the maximum. so I h ave to delete one in order to be able to post my response or comment. I was all set to show just how I felt only to lose one or two emoticons. I wish they wou ld put a few more emoticons in their list and let us at least use four instead of three. Maybe one day mylot admins will reconsider.

I actually don't tend to use emoticons in my responses to discussions because of the fact that I really don't like going to the mylot code. The reason that I don't like to do that is because it takes me longer to do that than it does to just type a response to a discussion. However, I do use a lot of the accepted internet abbreviations because I've been using those for so long that they are like second nature to me.

Right. When I'm in a hurry, like when my time to lot is limited, I don't use the emoticons as well. But, when I have the luxury of time, I use them.

Hi there gloryacam. I totally get what you're saying. In some of my social networking sites, I usually put lots of emoticons when I chat or say something. It's sometimes difficult to do the same thing on mylot. There are times I wanted to actually put a lot of emoticons to emphasize what I truly feel but it's not allowing us to do so. I guess, it's also great that they only allow us to use a few emoticons during discussions. In a way, they could prevent spammers or those people who just post lots of emoticons on when posting or saying something online, instead of really discussing.

Hahaha I am jealous, you make me really want to use a smilie. Or a frowny! Or maybe a little smilie guy with his hands crossed with a frustrated look on his face?! I guess you just have to describe what you are feeling without the little smilie guy? When can I use them again? I forgot the rules already but I guess I can't wait! I must chat more so I can smile more, if only I had the time.... heheheh

I love to use the emoticons because it adds life to your comments, discussions and responses! I really feel weird whenever I do not place an emoticon in my posts. I would never leave any posts of mine without emoticons on it. When I look at my posts, especially those without emoticons, I feel bored with it. It is like just an ordinary piece of writing. It seems like it is a blog writing. Nothing special except for words. So I guess that most of us really need the emoticons. I really enjoy adding life to my posts. It gives me the boost of confidence and all the courage to at least befriend with the rest of the mylotters.

Right! It's more interesting when we do add emoticons. Well, that's the same in real life, right? Would you rather talk to a person who's emotionless and goes on and on, or to an animated speaker with complete facial and hand gestures?
