cooking skill

My mom say, a good girl should know how to cook. From simple dishes up until the complex and traditional dishes. Then i entered the university taking course of food science which also need my culinary skill. But i'm surprise when most of my friends (girl) never cook before.
Honestly, I want to ask. Do you think girl nowadays do not know how to cook?

I don't know if there are a lot of girls who is now in College yet don't know how to cook yet.
My daughter, who just graduated from College , unfortunately do not know how to cook still. It's because for the past years that she has grown up , she was busy maintaining her scholarship by studying always. When vacation comes, i just don't have the time to teach her how.
I guess, when she marries, she will just eventually learn how to cook. That's because i learned how to cook when i got married. My husband taught me .

Good for you because your mom had the time to teach you. My husband and i are both working , so cooking was done by the maid.
