Scotty is the new American Idol

I've been a Scotty fan since his audition!!! I had made a bet with friends that Scotty was going to win this year. I think Scotty is a LOT like Johnny Cash & Johnny was considered one of the GREATEST country singers EVER born!!! However, I really didn't care which one won & they BOTH were winners!!! I feel that winning American Idol does NOT really do that much for you...being on AI & getting the exposure is what has made most of the AI stars!!! Carrie Underwood is the ONLY winner to go anywhere. Season 1, Kelly Clarkson almost made it; but found it NOT worth compromising herself & her principles to reach fame & fortune. Justin Guarini came in second & appeared to be doing well until he got in trouble with the law. Season 2 winner, Ruben Studdard, never went very far for much the same reason as Kelly. However Clay Aiken who came in second did fairly well. Season 3 winner, Fantasia Barrino, seems to have been hit or miss & we don't hear much about her. Diana DeGarmo came in second & I don't remember ever hearing her name. Jennifer Hudson came in 7th during Season 3 & she made it big in "Dream Girls" & has had a few sparsely populated singles along the way. Then Season 4 gave us the ONE true star...Carrie Underwood!!! Bo Bice seems to come & go at will, but I don't consider him famous...even though I do still recognize his name & face when I see it or hear it!!! In my personal opinion, Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks was a joke & I still don't understand HOW he won??? Katharine McPhee came in second & I don't even remember her either. Chris Daughtry is considered famous in some circles, but I don't hear of him very often. Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks doesn't seem to do much but an occasional talk show; but I don't see her as famous other than she can say she won Season 6. Blake Lewis came in second. I might add...who the hell is Blake Lewis??? That same season Chris Sligh came in tenth. The only time you hear of Chris is IF you live in Greenville, South Carolina...his home town!!! Kellie Pickler came in seventh & she pops up every now & then. Season 7 gave us the two Davids...Cook & Archuleta. They BOTH fade in & out periodically; but I don't see their fame!!! Season 8 gave us Kris Allen. Yes, he releases an album every now & then, but I don't feel he has "made it" in the music industry. Adam Lambert started out huge, but shot himself in the foot along the way...he's also releasing albums, but has lost his zest!!! Allison Iraheta's name pops up every now & then...but NOT as having "made it". Season 9, Lee DeWyze hasn't really hit his stride yet & I only ever hear of Chrystal Bowersox on a diabetes commercial with BB King. Both of those might still do something, but I'm just NOT seeing it happen!!! Now we're back up to this year's Season 10. I would LOVE to see Scotty & Lauren join forces as a GREAT duo!!! He says they have plans to do a duet on his first album. Their success is yet to come, so I can't say much,...but...I HOPE they make it!!! I also think they would make the cutest couple!!!! They are now doing teasers as to whether they are a "couple" or not!!!

Well I wanted Lauren to win just cause I think she's better and she's a performer. I know they are both country singers but I think Lauren is a lot versatile and can sing multiple genre but Scotty, I dont know his song choices are just plain and boring for me. When he sings, I feel like all the tunes are the same just different lyrics you know. haha! Like all he does is his deep voice songs whatever. ahah!

I personally think that American Idol was good for all of the contestants who made it in to Top 10, and a lot of them we will still hear from again. The tour does have a Good group of people in it this yr. I am also very happy that Scotty won, and that is actually who I predicted to take it all for a long time. There is just something about him that makes you want to listen to more.

I'm pretty happy that Scotty wins the title American Idol. He is not my bet but I like him. Lauren is still holding back until yesterday, she seems to be still not confident and stopping at the high notes. Scotty has a distinct and sexy voice and has a great personality. He deserves to win. Happy Mylotting stary1!

In my eyes , it's a win for the both of them. That's because looking at the crowd of fans both have are real strong. Therefore , an album or a duet for both of them is only going to be profitable and make them more popular than ever. Both have great voices.

I thought Lauren will won because of her versatility but America voted for scotty which is not bad pick though. scotty is also good in his own way. Lauren is unique too. I cant pick from the two. they are both winners for me

i think both will have good careers. i have not been following the show but heard Scotty sing on the radio and its nice to hear that country is coming back into vogue.

When I listen to music, I don't care how the person looks. I thought most of the clothes they had Lauren wear were awful. One of them looked like a 50's lampshade, and hideously made prom dresses. I'm glad Scotty won, because he knew how to perform on stage. Lauren was too cautious and needs to work on her prescence on stage. She'll get that experience when she goes on tour. Singing in kareoke bars doesn't cut it, lol!

I watched Ai yesterday and it was really great. I wanted Lauren to win though... but I am sure she'll still be famous, maybe even more famous than Scotty. Well, good luck to both of them.

Hi there, I am with you and would not have minded for either to win. I also remember that usually the second one usually gets a lot more deals. Simply because they are sort of free agent and can be contracted pretty much by many out there. Either way I though both were quite good and enjoyed the show.

I also watched the show and I thought Lauren will win but anyway, they were both talented and deserving....But honestly, my bet was James Durbin but he got elimated and landed at no.4 spot. I hope they will all have a bright future ahead, don't stop dreaming!
