i'm a proud Filipino. but this question keeps on boggling my mind. what are the possible reasons why Philippines just keeps hanging on it's current status or even getting worse? for me, continuous issues with regards to corruption. by the way, some are not just issues, they are true. corruption is really happening based on some news that i had been watching. still, i'm hoping that one day, my country would be able to raise it's status and we, Filipinos, don't even have to go abroad just to land a job. everyone's been hoping for the best.
please avoid comments that will discriminate or insult my race. after all, i'm just trying to fetch the opinion of my fellowmen and even foreigners who are aware of the Philippines status.

There are many factors why our country is not progressing. Is the most major factor of all time and that is corruption. Another factor will be the colonial mentality of our people. You can see the identity crisis of many people here. They don't feel proud of our own culture and they tried to ruling rule in our language by mixing them with the English language. There's nothing wrong with being: good in English, it gives us advantage but we shall not forget our own language. One more thing that harms our country is actually our pride, Some Filipinos were over proud were getting on the nerves of other races.I think the best way of the out of the Filipino is to be proud by action instead of words. Another thing most Filipinos have A mentality of an employee than being a business owner And that goes back from our history because we were colonized three times. . I do want our people to progress but there are many things we need to do like first we need to be united and worked as a unit instead of being crabs that pulls them each other. I hope I didn't offend you

i'm not offended man. because it's the reality. right? lot of people are now forgetting how to utilize our language(well, let's exclude ourselves at this point because we are in a universal forum site.) if you'll notice, high ranked government officials always use the English language when being interviewed by the media. knowing that they are being watched and observed by their fellowmen, isn't it right to use our own language when answering issues with regards to the country. like you, i am also hoping that we can gain progress throughout the years. thanks for the opinion man.

I think the best thing we can do for now is still support Filipino Products, we know Made in China products are very of affordable and cheap but our local products does have quality. I know many people in our country is using the English language just to show their social status. But I think using English when it's not necessary kind of makes them look cheaper. Also Raul Rocco Messed up our educational system before dying , He merged history, PE, music, home economics, in more subjects in the one. Also there's the catholic church trying to control our government.

I agree. Buying imported goods kills our local products. I remember the "Filipino First Policy" it should be implemented at this time. And to add with Raul Rocco's messing up is when he made the Contractual Law. Now it's hard for us to find regular job and employees are lacking in benefits.

well, for me as i filipino i think population land first. population is the main cause of many problems, like pollution, malnutrition and any other health problems.. And corruption is the best factor that let us unprogressive. Many politicians get funds that its not meant for them. Philippines will progress soon as soon as a great president will lead.
Long live Philippines!
Mabuhay ka!!!!
