Do you think Sachin's Decision leads to loose the match?

Every one know that Chennai Stadium is very slow pitch. It always helpful for the team who bats first. Because first half pitch will support for fast bowling and there won't be much turn but later on the ball will get turn and pitch will also support for spinners and batsmen has to struggle a lot to secure runs. I think Sachin also aware of this but still why he chose to bowling rather than batting? any idea friends? and is that decision makes MI to loose the match?
