a week ago the prime minister of israel Mr. Binyamin Metanyahu had a speech in the american congress house, in that speech he mentioned several critirias for peace....
1) Israel will never fold to 67' lines, because they are undefensable, though he agreed to give up large pieces of land, but only to keep the astrategic points Israeli.
2) Jegusalem is the capital of Israel and israel only (after 2000 years) and should never be devided again.
3) asked the president of palestine to neglect the treaty with the Hamas terror organization and go back to the negotiatiion table..
in response, the president of palestine said:
we do not want to talk, no negotiation, jerusalem and the entire west bank will be ours.
if you wand negotiation, go back to 67' lines and give us jerusalem...
and im asking what is your opinion on the subject?
it is known to all, even the one's who hate Israel, that if Israel go back to 1967 lines, that will be the end of the only jewish state in the world (in contrast to around 50 arab states), and probably the return of the jews to europian countries.
Jerusalem is a city which is holyest for jews, while arabs have Meka in Saudi Arabia.
everybody on the Israeli street want peace, but we know '67 lines will not be criteria...
what do you think? is there a chance for peace in the middle east? or maybe you got some ideas of your own (the leaders are old and don't really know what's going on in the world, I'll be happy to read your remarks

No avnach i don't think there is a chance of peace in the middle east. I am saying this because we have seen it in the past Muslim countries are difficult to deal in respect of peace consider the case of AFGHANISTAN for which Americans came for people to get rid from TALIBAN. consider the case of Iraq & quiwat where Americans came to interfere. To rescue Iraq from SADDAM Americans came to IRAQ and now the latest OSAMA was killed in PAKISTAN.
Being an Indian i know what peace means to people as we a;ways see terrorism in the country so often, bomb blasting is common in India.
