No friends that isn't my quote! It is what Danica said in an interview! All I can say is Amen! It is refreshing to hear a well known woman say this . I hope it can give support to those girls who feel the same way. Not Every woman is cut put to be a mother. And unlike days of old, Danica Is beautiful And successful. Back in the day People would look at you strangely if you said I don't want kids. Then would come the judgement. Why wouldn't you want kids? Oh, when you find the Right man, you will chance your mind.... Well Danica Is married and is saying no! Fantastic. Brava Danica! Your thoughts.

Many women would think that Danica is crazy because there are many others out there wanting a child and could not or the opportunity hasn't arise. I think you are right , it's definitely to each his/he own. Some married couples do not want children or are not ready yet and I think it's their prerogative. They could have their own reasons and what if they have children later in life but cannot take care of them properly. So that's another thing to think about surely..

That reaction is Why I am so proud of her. Many girls are Still being told if you Don't have children somehow you are less of a woman.I knew by age 7 I never wanted kids.Funny I took that message and said well , I guess I Have to get used to being thought of as less than. So to read about Danica was so refreshing. And as for waiting, I'm living proof that it can turn out ok. My mom had me when she was 40!

That's really cool...
You are right that girls are sometimes judged whether they choose to have a child or not. I mean if someone chooses to have a child through an adopted means or through other methods or choose not to have a child at all is basically their own choices and no one is a better judge of things than themselves.
I'm sure Danica is an inspiration for you as she has braved to come forward.
Having no child certainly doesn't make any woman lesser than who she is...whether it's by choice or not..

It is refreshing to see that she is open and knows what she wants out of life. Women do not have to have children to be successful and fulfilled. It is high time that they are not made to feel ashamed about this choice. Why bring a child into the world out of a sense of obligation? It shouldn't be that way. If more people had children because they wanted them, the world would be a better place for sure.

What a wonderful world it would be if Every child was Truly wanted! Even if a woman carries a child For an adopted couple Or single. No child born just because it was a restless moment and neither parent Really wants to love Or raise it. every child in a loving home, regardless of it being a single parent Or not! Well I can dream.

I think people need to do what's right for them...I have a friend that made that decision...she loves kids but didn't want any of her own. She says...I am too selfish...and that's why she doesn't want any. She prefers having whatever she wants to giving it up to a child.

Selfish maybe too harsh but I am Self centered enough to know I have no patience when it comes to children.

I am glad Danica did this! Not everyone is into having kids and so many girls/woman do and they aren't meant to be mothers! I just wish more woman and girls would do what Danica did! Even if she did had kids, her racing career would be over! Racing is to dangerous to be a mom or even being pregnant!

I just saw a movie based on a real life female race car driver who Started after being married and having a child. Sadly she and her husband broke up but she raced even though she was a mother. So You Can be a mother And a racer if you Really want to. I applaud Danica for saying up front , she doesn't want to , at least right now.

Though I have two and can't imagine myself without having had them, I salute here because she is not being selfish as some who feel that a child completes them, instead of making sure they have children for the right reasons.
So I applaud her myself.
