At the moment I am trying to lose weight and have cut out a lot of foods I know are not good for me, cookies/biscuits, chips/crisps, cakes, candy bars/chocolate bars etc. I have not eaten them for 3 weeks now, not even a crumb, but I do so miss eating cheesecake terribley.
Does anyone know of a low fat method of making cheesecake? What do you miss most when you have to cut back?

Oh no that sucks so bad. :(
I am trying to lose weight too but it is just so hard when I see sweets, pastries and burger!
A low-fat method? Hmm, I suggest you just replace the ingredients? Use nonfat milk instead, or sugar alternatives? At least some of the calories will be gone.
I cut back last time and I got sick. I missed eating sweets.

When i saw your cheesecake picture, it makes me thinking of buying some cheesecakes to eat, later. So far, i haven't came across any low-fat method of baking cheesecake. Currently, i am trying to cut-down some weight, too. But, i am still eating cheesecake once in week with 2 cups of tea. When i go to weight myself, i found that my weight don't really increase even when i ate cheesecake. I think eating cheesecake with combination of drinking some tea, works well for me.

Well, i haven't dare to try eat cheesecake twice a week, for fear it might increase my weight. Maybe when i had reached my idea weight, then only i will try to consume cheesecake twice a week. Hope you can try to have some low-fat cheesecake and let me know the outcome after you consume it.

When I used to diet mainly in my teens I used to miss crisps the most, the low fat ones didn't do the trick and tasted bland by comparison. I admire you going without the forbidden foods for 3 weeks, but I feel you should treat yourself at least once a week, otherwise you could not saying you could binge. That is what I did. I went weeks without eating chocolate and one day I couldn't go on, my diet was boring and it actually flattened my mood, I became irritable, deprived of sweet things. I guess it's moderation. I love my food too much and haven't dieted since my teens. I work out at the gym and burn it off so I can eat as much chocolate and crisps as I like. I don't share your love of cheesecakes I have to admit.

Hi there wolfie
Well I did have a little treat on Saturday night and I have a weigh in at the doctors tomorrow so we shall see how much that little treat cost me hahaha. I am amazed at myself as to how long I managed to go without but I thought that if I treat myself then I will just binge but I didn't really so it was cool. I just didn't want to disappoint myself and feel like I had let myself down by having a treat, do you know what I mean? I am sure you do, we are so hard on ourselves aren't we hahha
Thanks for your response

Hi there,
I have never been able to enjoy cheesecake, something about the rich tastes gets me after two bites, though it always looks so good on a nice fancy clear plate. So I went online and found a nice and very easy recipe for low fat cheesecake. This gave me an excellent idea, see I do like that way it looks and smells but it is just too sweet and rich for me.
So this reciepe looks quite interesting that I myself and planning on trying it. This way I know if I really just do not like the cheesecake itself and or it is just the texture.
Cheers and hope the both of us like it:

Hi hardworkinggurl
Thanks alot for that, I will check it out!
myfb2009, you might find that in other countries it goes by another name like I am sure that fat-free cream cheese here in the UK is Quark and I have no idea what Neufchatel cream cheese, I know that Neuchatel is a place in Switzerland though haha

I have tried a lot of low fat versions of cheesecake, and they just don't cut it for me. I have figured out a long time ago, that depriving yourself of things doesn't help you lose weight. Everything is fine in moderation. A piece of cheesecake every once in a while won't hurt you. It's the stuff we eat everyday that keeps me overweight. I have found if I completely cut something out, I go crazy when I finally decide I'm going to eat it. It's better to just have a little tiny piece and satisfy the craving.

Hi ya bonbon664
I just know that I am not going to stop at that one small piece, I am likely to eat the lot especially as no one in the house likes it!! It's like my coffee I have it white with 2 sugars and people tell me that I need to drink it with no sugar but I don't like it like that so I would rather not have it at all!! I have a cup in the morning and then drink water the rest of the day. I get what you say about low fat versions of stuff sometimes it tastes awful and doesn't satisfy that craving you have so you are better off not having it or having a little of the original stuff!
