There was a red bird that was coming around every day for a while a couple of months ago and all of the sudden I have not seen the bird except a couple of times the other day? This is so strange to see and I am amazed of how pretty they are and I love to watch them and make a wish and watch them fly away and hope it comes true!! O well maybe the bird will come today?

Hi there, Sounds like a cardinal for sure. We get them where I live (Toronto, Canada). They are definitely beautiful birds. They have such a peaceful song, and are such a delight to see with their bright red colour in the green trees! I do find that some days they are here, singing loudly, and then some days they aren't. It's interesting... Last year we didn't have any in our neighbourhood, but this year we do, and the year before last we had them. They're VERY territorial birds (and have been known to dive-bomb humans, too). I've also noticed that there's only one male per several females, and the females don't sing the way the males do. So maybe sometimes the females hang out while I won't see a male for days. Maybe that's what you're witnessing, too. The females are also a light grey-pink colour, pale in comparison to the males, and therefore not as easy to distinguish as "red" in colour.

Awwh I know this feeling very well. We use to have a squirrel visit us daily and at the same hour each morning. I would toss some bread and nuts and happily it would come back each day. One day the squirrel disappeared and has not returned in over a year. I hope your red bird comes back one day.
