for the past few days our dogs have been to the vet due to health reason with just an interval of 1 day to 1 week. at first it was pluto wherein he had a UTI, GERD and enlarged liver. the past week it was suki and lottie. lottie was acutely poisoned of which we never knew what poisoned her which caused her to be temporarily blind with her eyes all red and opaque. suki is still having colds and she is not taking medicines well as she vomits them often. i fear she might not get well sooner than expected because she keeps on vomiting her pills. can you suggest on how to make her take medicines without wasting them?

Hello Geonelynn, I'm sorry to hear about your dogs. You had a difficult week, hadn't you? I don't know any method to help Suky stop vomiting the pills. I think you should call the vet or even visit him to change her medication. Maybe he will opt for some injections instead of pills. Of course, it is more painful but if this is the only way to give her a medicine to help improving her health condition, you don't have a choice. I hope your dogs will be fine soon, please keep us up to date with their condition. I'll keep you in my thoughts until I hear from you.

When my dog was sick with a cold he did not want to take his medicine either. I would put it in his mouth and give him water and he would just spit it out. Then one day I tried giving him his medicine wrapped up in a treat and he took it. So I would suggest trying that. Eventually my dog try to outsmart me and eat the treat and spit out the pill if that happens just try again with the treat it will work. Or you can try hiding it in there food if its canned.

If that doesn't work I would call the vet and see what you can do since she is throwing it up. That might not be a good sign. Good luck hope she feels better. She may get better on her own too was what I was told by a doctor. It would just take longer but the meds help speed up the process on them getting better.

the problem with suki is that she does not like to take anything, even her favorite food she despises now which makes it very hard for us because she is not feeding.. we are only giving her baby food to have something in her stomach. it would have been a lot better if she would eat but she does not have any appetite at all.. :(

Awww poor Suki...I find the best way to get my dogs to take their medicine, (I have to give them pills for car sickness for vet and groomer trips) I bury the pill into a small amount of peanut butter..Dogs love peanut butter and when I do this, my girls have that pill swallowed in no time..

Take her back to the vet, or at least phone them for advice, if she is vomiting her pills back up, the medicine cannot do its job, also she will possibly dehydrate, good luck to you and Suki
