Rescued a very young kitten today.

Rescued kitten - This is the kitten we found outside this morning and trapped. Not sure her age.

Last night, we saw the black cat down the street, and he had a kitten with him. I had no idea that it was a kitten though, they were too far away to see. But this morning, they were under the van and the kitten was crying. Well, my husband got the bright idea to bring the trap out and catch the kitten. And it worked. He called me this afternoon and told me that he found the kitten in the trap. My cat wasn't happy about this, so it was agreed that the kitten would go down to the basement to live. I believe it's a she as I just have this feeling based on what I see. I don't know how old she is, I'm guessing that she's between 4-8 weeks old since she's so small. She's very friendly, loves to be held and purrs like crazy. Got her some kitten food and she was eating it like there was no tomorrow. She has infections in her eyes, so we wiped them clean and hoping that we can deal with it until they have enough money to take her to a vet soon. Cute little thing that's for sure.

I am sure this one will be easier to handle. Too bad she has to live in the basement. Do your renters mind? It seems like one thing after another and you working all these long hours. I hope things go smoothly. Her eye infection may clear up with proper nutrition and shelter. I would worm her too.

It is good for her to be wanted. I hope his other cat did not die of feline leukemia, because that lingers in the house. It is also good that he can have the expense of caring for her. I think your home is actually going to turn into a happy and nurturing place with the new roomie replacing the creep.

I'm sure it will. She loves the kitten, both of them downstairs do, that's why they said they'd keep her. I wish I could keep her myself, but it's a full house up here. 2 gerbils, 2 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, 2 cats and one dog. Our other rescue will be leaving us when she's ready for adoption and finds a home, she wont be getting along with the pets here anyways.

Yes, it is certainly a full house, and it sounds like enough to be a full time job without working.

Such a cute little guy, and so fuzzy looking. I do hope the infection clears soon. Does does seem quite small. You are such a blessing to the Kittie.

I have to face facts that I'm a rescue magnet. But it's good since the kitty will have a life inside instead of outside.

I'll be waiting for the rescue people to come by and they'll be able to tell me how old she is. I haven't had a kitten around since I was younger, so this will be a nice change around here.

this is a cute and lovely story you shared here kris182_2000. i love cats and i love stories about them, especially this kind, made me teary-eyed. I did rescue a kitten before and she was so sweet too, unfortunately, my neighbor accidentally killed, i didnt talk to him for months after that incident. but ive forgiven him now tho....

What a pretty baby, and your husband is a pretty bright guy! She does look more like 4 than 8 weeks. I wonder what the black cat was doing with her...

Hi Kris, that was a really gud deed buddy.. Bt i will suggest u to atleast take her to the vet as early as possible.. coz as u hav said she is just 4-8 weeks old so any infection can prove fatal to her.. an cheerz for ur gud work..:)

you deserve a round of applause. ^^ some kittens, cats or even dogs became victims of human violence. some even eat them. it's true. and others do kill them just for fun or by a simple reason, they are irritating. how pathetic. we should not wait for the time that there would be no kittens roaming in the road and even chasing mice. ^^
