Time - Why it goes sometimes fast and sometimes not?

I wonder about the sense and the feeling of time.
While there are days who feels like an eternity for me, other days feels so speedy - they end in an heartbeat.
Do you feel like that too?
The interesting thing about it is that the real duration of time is the same in both cases. I don't know why it happens - but mabey it related to how much busy you are - In a very busy day, the time flies and in an empty and a boring day it passes slowly.
What do you think?
Thanks:)

When we do some interesting activity,we are fully immersed in it.But if the activity doesn't appeal to us time appears to move slowly or is at a standstill. You are absolutely right when you say on a busy day time flies. The reverse is true when we have no work or the work is dull.

You right too. But when it goes fast, sometimes its disapointing. In a case you're having the greatest day, but it passes in a blink of the eye... You want to cherish every moment from good and special days, but they all slip away.
Can we slow it down in our minds? Can we realy enjoy every beat of every second of a great day and don't let it fade away so fast?

The trick is to do our pleasurable work at a reasonable pace.If we quicken the pace the activity which gives pleasure is over far too quickly. But the difficulty is while at work we have to turn in our work quickly. If we find an answer to this difficulty we can prolong our moments of pleasure and satisfaction.

Well there is that saying "time flies when you are having fun." And opposite otherwise. When you are waiting for something, or in some cases waiting for nothing, time goes so slow. The more we look at the clock the slower it goes also. It is an interesting concept, our view of time.

It is a realy interesting concept - And mabey we can control it? There has to be something that we can do about it.
Sometimes, when time goes slow (too much slow i mean) i try to waste it in a "faster" way - by singing or thinking about something i need to do. And then, sometimes i succeed in making it goes faster.
Do you have some ways to control the view of time?

Hello ykbays,
If you read poetry you would see almost all poets more or less right on the theme of Time. Andrew Marvel wrote on his poem "To his coy mistress' - "Had we but world enough and time, this coyness lady would be no crime".
The poet is very much in urgency for he knows time is running faster. What top do now then? With their reconciliation though though they can not stop the Time but can make him run.
In our daily life too sometime it seems we are running short of time. And sometime you wait and wait time seems moving slowly and you are impatient.
This is how Einstein explained the notion of relativity. The same time is short for you and long and boring for me.

When I was a kid, time went too slow, but now, it goes too fast. No matter I'm busy or bored, time seems to vanish in a second these days. Things like happening yesterday while they were actually a story in ten years ago. Is time really flying too fast or I have been being too busy, or making myself too busy to think, such that time always going fast? I don't know...

I think it all depends on our state of mind at the moment;if we are sad or bored or unhappy with our work we have the impression that every second passes very slowly because time passage is like a burden for us in those moments, while when do something very interesting or pleasant we don't feel that pressure anymore,we don't feel time as it goes by us.I guess that we can do something to motivate ourselves in difficult moments and think that eventually they will be gone;I suppose there are people who even in unpleasant situations don't feel that time passes so slowly as others do.

as many said before, it depends on the situation u are in
like einstein said
' when u sit with a girl hours flies like seconds
and with a hot oven minnutes will turn hours'
these are all depends on the perception
when we have nothing to do we would just be blank and the viceversa
its a matter of what u think

I think it is more a matter of our own individual perception of time, and the circumstances in which we notice it's passing...

It's part of the mysteries of the brain. It could be our hormones. Perhaps our brain enters a different dimension in Eisteinian time. It's the same as when we dream. When we dream, we sometimes dream an event that takes many more hours than we sleep. When we are at work sick, time goes sooooo sloooooow, whereas when we are not sick and having fun, time speeds by. When you are young, time seems to take forever but when you get older (for example when most of us finish high school) time seems to miraculously speed up and never goes as slow as when we were younger - evem if we're sick or bored. It would be nice if we had "switch" cards so that one day while we were having fun and time was speeding by, we could reach down and get our "switch" card and take the slow time from our sickness and add it to make time go slow. Then when we get sick, we will have the fast time that we switched from when we were having fun and use it to make our sickness go by faster.

I always feel the time is so fast when i do something i love to. But the time is so slow when i don't have something to do like waiting for someone or sometime i'm having classes.
i think it is related to ourselves' feeling.

The brain is an amazing thing. It keeps track of so much more than we are actually conscience of. One of these "background programs" running on the brain OS is an understanding of the passage of time. This is likely a pretty deeply buried program as important as it is, so it is only overridden when our minds are well occupied. Sure people say "time flies when your having fun", but I think you'll find it flies when you are fully engaged in unpleasant activities too.

Human perception of time is relative. That is when we get bored, we are mindful of the passage of time, hence we think it goes slower.
When we're busy (or do an activity that we find interesting), our brain does not devote so much attention over time. Hence the feeling that time passes so quickly.

hello,
Yeah, I also experience this case because sometimes when I am bored at home I wish I am busy but when I am busy I wish I finish it all because time really run so fast specially if I have a lot of things to do, even how hard you slice the work it still not enough because time flew really fast. But when I am boring I use to open my computer and by that I can watch youtube or do myLot.

I heard one day that time is just a wait until the next success in your life. Every time we look at the clock is because we want to know how far or close is that activity we are waiting for or we are going to do. This sounds very interesting to me because if you analyze it is true. So, I think depending of how good or bad is that activity I think runs the time for you.

Time is a Waveform that allows you to experience the infinite compressed, when you feel happy and you experience less time then when you look at the clock: "oh my god did realy 5 hour passed by?" this is the actual age you aged for other this might be 7 hours but for you "5"
when you feel sad or think the day isn't going fast enough then you create alot of ageing, and thats also why your emotions controls the time frame for you because it will take very long this is physics, time responds to your mood.
thats why some older people who enjoy life still look young, face it ;) it truelly is in your own control.

Actually, it is creation that is speeding up as we become more and more evolved in the process. Within this evolutionary process, a lot of things is happening within the DNA-level of each human being in less and less time. Let me share here a link that will give an overview of the entire evolutionary process since the beginning up to today. Hope you enjoy it.
