Does it surprise you to discover you have limits?

Okay I'm no genius or whatever. Not even close to brilliant , believe me. Sometimes thought I relish the thought that I offer creative and unique ideas (or practical ones, depending on the situation). At least I believed that before. Nowadays though I think I've failed on that department. It's quite selfish I know. But don't we need something that we can be confident about? I feel disappointed and lacking. Do you also feel like this sometimes? When you doubt yourself too much that you feel embarrassed being you?

I think that is a little dramatic. You can do anything you chose to. Or think anything. We do need to be confidant and can be if we wish to. Why do you feel lacking? Fix it! Don't let it get to you. Work on it! It's all in your head and time to feel good and not take it too seriously and get too bummed.

Bordering on pathetic right? LOL. You're brutal! But sometimes brutal truth helps. This is one of those times. Thanks really.

I've always felt that way. My self-confidence has been dropping because of my family and personal situation. I tend to goof up and I would be reprimanded harshly with words and as a result my self-esteem got broken up. My love life had gone wrong and I was replaced by someone younger and with a more promising future than a single unemployed mother. I was forbidden to have a boyfriend ever since I got pregnant. I would only be able to apply for a job next year, according to my parents when my son is already attending school. Life sucks right now, hopefully this isn't forever..

Don't worry, it won't be this bad always. As we mature our tolerance for pain gets higher. Hehe. I think you have to explain to your family that although you know they really have your best interests at heart, they're not helping you cope with their unnerving comments. As for your lovelife, someone who doesn't appreciate you and the lessons you've learned in life doesn't deserve to be your partner. Have faith in yourself.

Having self doubts is a natural thing that keeps you on your toes! You actually become more innovative when you realize your limitations. Just because you can't do something in the conventional way, doesn't mean that it can't be done at all. Of course, we don't always succeed on the first attempt. It can take several failures before we get it right. That time can be embarrassing!

That's a wise way to look at it! The key is looking for a new way to do it. I guess being negative just tends to make everything more difficult.

I only have limits when i feel bad, when i feel good and have meditated of then limitation goes far away from my mind-set because when you align then limitation changes for some time.

YEp I guess you're right. Insecurity is really the most effective way to crush creativity.

My brain tells me that's really what I should do but my very emotional heart enjoys being dramatic at times.

well i've always known that i've got limits. not just physical ones, but psychological ones as well. they always say left handed people are supposed to be very creative. whenever people see me using my left hand, they'd say 'oh you must be really creative!'. initially, i was quite bothered because i'm the least creative person i know. these days i have come to accept that not ALL left handed persons are creative. i've never doubted myself much though. i believe that everyone has what they are good at. i KNOW i am good at certain things. may not be everything, but at least something. we can be good at everything, so there is no reason to feel disappointed or lacking.

I relate to what you are saying. I can have great confidence in regards to certain situations one day and I can feel completely at a loss and lack confidence the next. It used to concern me but as I’ve grown older and possibly a little wiser I have learnt that perhaps it is all about being human; proud of our talents and insecure about our imperfections.

it does not surprise me. honestly, it surprises me more to discover that i have capabilities, that i have skills, that i have talents, or that i am unique in a field. along with this, i think we have to accept that we also have limitations despite our strengths. we do monopolize wit, we even discover that we do not own an idea. there can be others with the same idea, and even much better. it does not really feel good to feel lacking. it's normal to be sad about it. but still, we have to do something to enhance the strength that we still have.

I am not surprised. In fact I already know that fact. I am only human after all, I am bound to have limitations. If it's job related, I try my best to compete with my co-workers. Of course, most are better than me but that's normal. I don't think too much.

I guess that is the same reason why we do are grounded and not too puffed up with our own importance. To realize that we are human after all and despite the fact that we may excel in many areas of our lives we still do have our own breaking point. Sometimes there are no real reasons why we say we reach our limits especially if an event happened for the first time but it has to do with being overwhelmed about so many things that we have to do deal with in just one day.
