Educated person can lead the country well but every educated person not an honesty person in the world. A politician must have good skill that it will help to running the country. Nowadays there are politicians who doesn't know reading and writing but still they get elected from the people and they rule us. I do suggest that if a person wants to become a politician then there should be some qualities like 1. Basic Education 2. Good family background 3. Honesty should be there himself 4. Social concern should be there 5. Support from the people 6. Capable to understand about the country's status, changes of rules and regulations 7. Capable to take his duty and responsibilities towards the country growth. All above qualities should be there in that particular person so that he can be a good politician.

except 2,3 & 5 all the other points is essential for a politician these are enough good family background isnt essential, we cant say that people from good background is good and will do good, consider the Nehru family for an example similarly, honesty wont make u a good politician, especially to avoid others baits finally, a good politician doesnt claim support from people unless its much important for the society; most politicians exaggerate even a little help by them through media i hope u get it

Friend i will say thank you for your suggestion and come again with the new rules to fulfill 2, 3 and 5 points. I will agree that if a person from good background he/she may not do well in their career. But in the 5th point if they have people support which indicates that he is a social worker where he will work for the society and he did that. Thats why so much of people supporting him/her, right?

Hmm nice points Urban, i will add it to my list. Yes the politician should work hard to make sure that within his ruling time he/ she should prove himself/herself by improving the society not only once but also through out his 5 years of duty. But i didn't get the meaning of the last sentence. Can you please explain a little bit about that point?

I mean a politician should have experienced the perils of running a small business or have experience of caring for some disabled or old person or that they should have experienced being homeless. These things would perhaps, teach them compassion for people in society living those lives all the best urban

I have raised this point in my discussion particular to my country regarding the type of politicians that currently ruled my country. I try not be elitist (my country has a very general qualifications for an aspiring politician) but I felt that they are a few lacking qualities in political roster. I agree on the notion that being an educated person isn't exactly qualify for a public office. But there is a need for a certain level of education in order to understand the law, create a rapport among fellow politicians and participate in the makings and the intricate of the law-making process. Not everything is based on charisma, popularity and personality. Your definition of basic education is a little bit gray here. My response to your other desired qualifications is that they might belong to a perfect person or politician if such person existed. It will be hard to find an exact specimen and in my opinion, I would feel sorry for that person to be coerced into a dirty world such as politics. Politicians are also human, they aren't perfect as much as we wanted them to be. But they have the obligation to serve the public and not their personal interests, dreams or their families. We could only hope that we, as a people and our interest, remains the top priority in their minds. If not, give them the kick in the you-know-where part.

hello. No.1,5 -- can be measured or ascertained. Other points 2,3,4,6 and 7 -- the4y are not measurable. More educated persons also are corrupt. Many big cyberspace frauds are committed by educated boys and girls only. Family back ground - is not going to help us decide a person's ability or usefulness. a man coming from not so good family back ground performs better in politics or work. Honesty - Many fraudsters are people who were honest because opportunities were not there earlier. Greed for money, fame -once these creep into an individual he does what he is not supposed to. Value system taught when the person was in childhood matters a lot. The company of people with whom he is moving makes it a lot. Let us see what others tell about this.

Yes i do agree with you Ravi but every one is not the same. If they don't have good quality in them then there should be a law where we can kicked out of the politics. But the problem is nowadays if a politician has more money means he will purchase everyone. That is the main problem, everyone look for money not for the honesty person.
