Hi myLotters!
Girls, have you ever tried BB creams? People say it's a good replacement for a foundation, good at blemish cover - ups and for oil control. I just want to know if BB creams are really that effective. And do you know what BB cream brand / shade is good for tanned skin (morena skin)? Thanks for the help!

yes i've used it. it does give the skin very light coverage. it depends on your needs - whether bb cream would suit you or not. i think bb cream is fine for casual outings... but for special events, nothing beats foundation especially if it's an evening thing. some are allergic to certain brands of bb cream so the best way to find out is to try the product / brand yourself. i like the face shop's bb cream, and sad to say, i'm allergic to maybelline's. the shades offered for bb creams are usually limited to two or three shades. most have just one actually. since it's a "middle" color, one color that's supposed to suit all complexions. i think you can easily adjust it either by applying it thinly or mixing it with another foundation or just put loose powder on top of it.

Thanks for the very thorough info, kquiming!
I am just scared of trying / buying a BB cream then I'd look like a zombie after applying it, because most people I know that use BB creams are light complexioned, say they have skin tone like those of Korean actresses. i want to use BB cream to hide some pimples and blemishes. I am not good in putting in concealer so I really want to try.

Thanks for the encouragement and the tips.
I have another question: Does BB cream sink in / absorbed by the skin easily? I do not use loose powder but a compact, so would the BB cream not be removed or stick on the powder's sponge the when I use my compact powder?

I've tried Maybelline's BB cream which is way cheaper than the Korean brands and I think it works just as well. I find the BB cream much lighter and easier to spread than the usual liquid foundation and it's not at all sticky and I no longer need to put sunscreen before it because most BB creams already provide sun protection.

I have tried one cream from Maybelline.I really like it because you don't need to put sunblocks and moisturizers plus it can help for your face to look brighter. It's also good in covering blemishes but I'm still using additional concealer with it.
