Question and answer

I don't know how things go around here...but in mylot shouldn't people post things that should start a discussion? i've seen a lot of people asking for an opinion, or things like "i love candy because it's sweet, what do you love and why?" kind of questions...i'm not doing a great job at this either...but i don't have the inspiration to start a discussion, or think at a subject that people are gonna be intrigued off.
And i try to answer, and give another idea at what they said, and try to continue the discussion but nothing, they are satisfied with a answer and that's all.
I've seen examples, i've seen big posts, with big discussions but they are getting fewer...or it's just my impression....

Unfortunately there are people here that are just about earning extra money. Eventually you will see less of those people as they don't really understand how Mylot works and they get fed up.
You are already on the right foot as you have noticed this yourself. My advice to you you is keep persisting. Write quality discussions, give quality answers and rate other people respectively.
You will see the rewards for this in time, have fun.

hi madmax those discussions are really pathetic as they give us nothing to discuss also the example you showed would break the rule against
poll discussion . thats taking a poll not a real discussion,.a discussion may pose a problem the poster has and is asking for our input on and that gives a way to keep the discussion going . .So many are sure if they write a zillion discussions and get a zillion responses they will be rich .,they do not understand that they do not get paid for our responses. we did the work so we get the pay. they must comment back on all the responses then they will make nice earnings.to earn here its quality not quantity that makes money.,

I think we hit a nice balance when we are interested in the discusion and take part in it. I imagine the examples posed could be phrased in some other way in order to turn them into discussions.

You are right. The discussions you are describing are classed as polls and are liable to be deleted and your work goes for waste. I would suggest that you add friends who are active and respond to their discussions. Some of them will not add you as friend until you have interacted with them. You will see examples of better discussions then. That is not to say that new users cannot start good discussions, but they definitely start the bad discussions. You will get used to all of us and you will get to where you feel really good coming and going in the discussions.

You did alright with your response. You have been a member quite a while, and it will be nice to see what you come up with in the future.

yeah i've been a member for 3 years, but didn't have time for mylot.
And now it's the same , don't quite have time for it:(. And i don't find the excitement in it as i would with a game or something.
It's fun, but i wouldn't dedicate much time for it.
I'm having a "stay away from pc period", because it destroyed my life , the pc, internet, and things like this.
But i'll always have some time for mylot:D

This is why i like mylot.
I found out that my imagination and my skill in talking with people are poor, i need to read more, need to evolve.
When i read your answer i was thinking, ooh, so nice, big community, people that want to be my friends because i can start a discussion and so on, but when i started to write i went:| , and started to think at what to say...and how to say it.

Hi!
I too have the same view like you, most of the discussion will ended after one respond, and not many will come back and reply to your respond, they tend to just stop at your first respond even you asked some questions on your first respond to a discussion. I think it is a norm that people doesn't really want to know the answer but actually they already have the answer of the discussion that they have started. That is why when you try to ask them question in your first respond, you will not get any respond from the discussion starter. What can feel is people only want to get respond and so that they can earn money, as long as their discussion have got some responses, they are satisfied with it, unless they are really serious about the question they asked.

Hi!
Sorry i didn't answer, i've been busy.
Yeah they only want to have a discussion in which ppl respond and they don't give a answer or at least a feedback at what they said.
Maybe they are not creative enough to have a discussion.
Donno...maybe i did it before a couple of times, but i don't like it, and i try to give a respond and talk to people, about their ideas and opinions

Your observation is correct and for some members that fact seems not to sink it just yet. I don't want to judge since I do ask questions (with supporting details and relevant information) but I make it a point that people have enough material to respond to. I just responded to a question wherein the person who posted it perhaps wants me to spoofed him an answer. I try to encourage him to use his computer and his internet connection but there's a good chance that he will misread my intentions. This decrease my appetite (sorry for the term) to respond and lash back but I know to keep my tongue (and my keyboard). Let us hope that more quality discussion will be made and we will not suffer from inane discussions in our stay here.

I have to make an observation here because while for some members there are some things that don't 'sink in', it appears that for others there are also misconceptions about myLot.
MyLot was created as a discussion site. When we create a topic and others respond on it, we should then go and comment to them, furthering the topic and turning it into a discussion. There are many users who do not realise this and don't do it and they are missing our on earnings too because they do NOT earn anything for the responses that others post. The discussion starter earns for what they type, the comments. Those users who post the responses earn for them.
I see that you have some great topics that have not yet become discussions too
