As we know that books can be everyone's friends, no matter what is your age, what type of person are you... I saw many people in society are nowadays losing interest in books.... and i think that books can improve your Reading skills, Speaking skills as well as they can make develop your personality and make you a person of high moral character.. I enjoy reading books very much but i want to know your opinion... What about you???

Hi eshaan didi
I am in desparate need of so many books - my problem -I cannot sit and read them on the PDF format
I have about 4GB of these books related to my work, hobbies and others but as they are on the digital format, reading them becomes time consuming and also me doesnt feel comfortable.
I planned to get a printer but that becomes expensive right now. We do not have a good library here - the only one available is the state library where they will not allow me to borrow a book home

Although I haven't found time to enjoy books like I used to, I do enjoy them once in a while. I believe that it is even more powerful than any electronic media, as it engages the mind. Sometimes you get lost in a particular book, when you enjoy reaing it.
Hopefully I find time to read soon.

A book is the only place where you can examine a fragile thought without destroying it, or you can explore a controversial idea without fear that you will explode in your face - one of the few refuges where a man's mind can get both provocation As well as intimacy.

Hi eshaan, I'm here again
Reading is one of my favorite habits which is adopted since my childhood. I should thank my late dad encouraged me to read newspaper daily during my junior primary. I have read countless of interesting books in many aspects. Of course children's stories and fairly tales accompanied me all the time and gave me a beautiful and unforgettable childhood.
During my teenage I was really indulging in reading romantic stories as well as science fictions. Engrossing detective stories were my another great love lol... These books had enriched my young life luxuriantly. After having kids I rarely read books as I was really busy to take cake of my family and my career.
English is not my native language and I have great interest to learn it after the kids grown up. Moreover I like reading and writing post at mylot sites. Therefore I always try to read online articles as well as latest news, etc to enhance my language and improve my writing skill too. So that I can express my views and feeling here rather easy
Happy posting

Hi ikbooi, thanks for response... It might be that English is not your native language but still i feel that you write in proper English and you have good English skills which i feel is not easy for everyone... Yes you are right that reading books makes people feel that they have a good childhood because after childhood everyone is busy in their business, jobs whatever... But at least in the time of childhood everyone needs to everyone needs to enjoy and i think the great enjoyment comes from reading books as they tell you a lot about famous personalities, gives you a lot of knowledge and even make you learn a lot of new things which influence you greatly and even a lot of new words which can help you increase your speaking and writing skills..

I have been interested in books since the time i learned to read. so much knowledge and fulfillment can come from what we can read in books. i enjoy reading a variety of things from nonfiction biographies to heartwrenching romance novels. Books can take you places that you can't go anywhere else/.

Whenever I need inspiration, I always head straight to the shelves because there's a lot of information in books that can easily deposit ideas into your creativity bank. My sister and I have over a thousand books in our collection and I will not trade them for any gadget. I kinda feel bad for those who don't like to read, they're really missing on a lot because books have the ability to transport you to different places and times.

I'm not sure if people are really loosing interest in books, or if its just that the format has changed to digital. I know a lot of people that read books on their computers, Kindles or even on their phones.
But, I also couldn't help but notice the closing of the bookstore Boarders, that was a big name store and it was pretty shocking. Did they go under because people aren't buying books? Or did they just not catch up with Amazon and Barnes & Nobel fast enough with online ordering and things like that?
You might be right, there could be a decrease in interest. If that's the case then it's pretty scary. Books have been a staple of society for a while now and I believe that reading does expand our minds and does teach us proper use of the language. I don't think we'll really know for sure for a couple more years, and if people really have lost interest in books, I don't think we'll really see the consequences of that for at least 5-10 years, mainly when the younger generation gets into the workforce.
I really do hope that it's not the interest in books, but mearly the format of the books that is changing.

I like reading books. I have a huge collection. I remember that in the high school I didn't liked to read at all. I don't know what happened but now I can't sleep untill I read a few pages. I also have PDF books in my nokia 5230 and when I have nothing better to do and I don't have a book near me I read from the phone :)
