Toilet Paper Habits

The other day my daughter informed me that I had failed to flush the toilet. "Not me, huh-uh!" I said. Then she said it had to be me because I'm the only one who folds my toilet paper like that. What could I say?
It got me pondering, though. (Hey! You gotta think about something, right?) I remember when I was little I used to roll the paper out till it touched the floor, using the wall as my measuring stick. Then I would bunch it up into a ball before I used it.
My mother would measure out a length, fold in two and then again. I remember seeing her do this many times. In my old age, I have taken after her in that. I usually measure out five to seven squares, fold them in two and then in thirds before using them.
When I was a young adult pregnant with my first baby I stayed with some folks who had the Granny come for a visit. Well, Granny used only one square, folding it in fourths. I could never understand how anyone could get clean with just one square.
What about you? Is there a certain amount you use and do you have a ritual you perform, a certain way you fold it before using it? And isn't this a fun topic? LOL

Hi I use TP proportional to what it encounters so it's a case to case basis, anyway I bathe or shower afterwards so I do not think the amount or signature marks mean much to me

You bathe every time you use the toilet? Wow...that would mean you bathe at least three or four times a day!

Yah, I guess. In my home we have to conserve water and so bathe maybe twice a week, which is what I grew up with.
As a young adult I showered daily for a while but since my daughter was born I've gone back to the twice a week that I grew up with. Any more than that and my skin dries out so bad, it hurts!

That's not very uncommon here friend, probably because of the hot climate, taking a bath or a quick shower 2 or 3 times here is quite common, anyway I defecate mostly just in the morning so it comes with the morning shower as well, if there's a second round maybe from eating too much, then that makes it two which makes is still quite natural for us, again I think habits are very much well affected by regions and climates.

LOL...yes, I know there was a big uproar online when Sheryl Crow suggested everyone use just one square of TP. I would have to bathe every time I used the toilet if I did that. May as well not wipe at all, eh? LOL

Lol, this is an interesting topic. I usually use wet wipes instead of toilet paper because it is cleaner and doesn't leave behind dust like toilet paper does. Typically one wet wipe will do the job. When I do have to use toilet paper 3-4 squares works for me.

LOL...well, my mom in her old age used to have a wash cloth that she would use specifically for cleaning her hiney. She was so cute about it, too. I remember handing it to her once when she was in the bath and she said, "NO! Not that one! I use that for just my bottom!" She was horrified at the thought of using it to wash her face! Of course, this was before the invention of the wet wipes.

Hi. alaskanray. Wow! Aren't you and your granny patient. I don't think that I have the patience to fold up my toilet paper into squares and lengths before I will use them. I just take the amount that I need to use off of the toilet paper roll, then I ball it up and then I use it then.

LOL...I suppose I should poll the folks as to their ages, as well. I used to just wad up my TP as well but as I've aged I've gotten more and more into neatness in my personal habits...even my use of the TP.
