What Is the Best Way to myLot?

This is what I think it is (which I haven't started using yet, but will get to A.S.A.P.):
Go to "preferences," and make sure myLot sends you alerts whenever-there's a reply on one of your responses or -there's a response on a discussion you started (and also when there's a new discussion posted by a friend).
Have all myLot-messages filtered into a special folder in your email. Then everyday start with that email and reply to all the posts you get alerted-to there. When responding to a post on one of your own discussions, go to the responder's profile too and respond to one of their new discussions.
Then go through your unresolved discussions and resolve any that have more than eight responses or that were made more than four weeks ago.
THEN (and ONLY after ALL THAT OTHER STUFF) post one-and-only-one new discussion.
If you can't do all that in one session, that's okay. But start ALL THE WAY OVER everyday.
Is there a better way?

Wow, those are good suggestions. Especially When responding to a post on one of your own discussions, go to the responder's profile too and respond to one of their new discussions.
I don't know why my filter at yahoo is failing me. The only ones that go to my mylot folder are those notifying me that a friend request has been accepting. The other notifications still go to my inbox.

Nice suggestion mythociate but these are all the basic & all the alerts are default there in the users profile they don't need to do R&D in that. But they should know the things.
I think all you tips relate to ettiquets because when some one is giving you response the you should also keep his discussion ticking.

Let me know how that works. I have trouble going through all the emails I already get from mylot so I just go through them as I get to them. I don't know how to make a folder in gmail, but I do look at all the responses and comments even if I don't respond to them all. I only start discussions if I have something to say and it doesn't matter if it is the first thing when I log in or right before I quit for the night. Thanks for the suggestions!

Sounds like a well thought out plan.
I log in to my email daily and simultaneously to myLot. I head straight to my PM and respond to my friends there first. Thereafter I will go to my email and begin responding to discussions/responses/comments from my email alerts. I also simultaneously answer discussions from the tabs because I notice new members with help questions and I do like to help new members since they are new discussions in which interaction is current and waiting. Also because being new with help and or questions if not answered they may not return the next day.
Thereafter I continue as usual, I do not start discussion daily and or often. I may someday but only if I feel it is quality for me and or I have time on that day. My order can vary but pretty much similar each day.

You are a good example to follow (whom I would follow more closely if my computer weren't a few years 'ancient' )

I use to get to many emails telling me that i have had a response as well as alot of emails saying that my friends have all started a discussion. That use to take forever getting all the emails done and i could never catch up, so what i do is i try to respond to my discussions as well as friends that have started discussions.I can never seem to catch up and in the past when i have not been on here for only a day or two, i had over three hundred emails, no way could i do all of those, lol.

I don't look at work here as 'a road I have to get to the end of,' but more like 'tread-machine that--though it doesn't stop running--I can hop off and hop back onto whenever I feel like it!
