Most of the time, it's me who cooks for us. My husband does the cooking only when i'm not in the mood or if i'm not feeling well.
Last night, i was surprised. When i got home, there was a good smell of sauted vegetable. My husband went home early from work and he did the cooking for me.
How about you myloters, who does the cooking at home most of the time?

Well me and my two sisters live together, so sometimes I am really responsible for our meal. I cook our meals because it's kinda expensive for us to buy something outside. But sometimes I want to take out foods so that I will not have to cook because you know it's kinda tiring.

when we are both tired we also end up buying cooked food outside or take away food from fastfood chain.

Now usually it is my mom to cook at home. If we don't have to work, then sometimes I will cook because cooking is one of my interests. And if I am tired, I will let my husband to cook. It is lucky for me since I have a husband who can cook.
I love China

When I was married for the last time my hubby would cook as much as I did. He had been a cook professionally and was very good. He was working as a carpenter and when the weather wasn't good he would clean and cook. I had my specialties and he had his so we always had good things to eat.

I used to do all the cooking when my children were little. Now my husband cooks more than I do. I always said the advantage if you cook is you get to pick what is for dinner. That's fine with me. After years and years of cooking all the time I do not mind someone else deciding..I used to get tired of planning :)
It is also a generational thing I think. My Mom always cooked but she didn't work outside the home. Now when both husband and wife work, I think the cooking needs to be shared and eating out is often a good thing for both :)

I live with my mom and younger brother and they are mostly working at the office during the weekdays so every dinner time I would cook for them and they would eat dinner after work.

Since we live our retired parents-in-law and husband and i are on weekdays at work, it's mother-in-law who cooks at home. But on weekends where i am at home i do the cooking.
But when my husband and i were just starting as husband and wife and lives separately from them those times, my husband would cook the foods. He taught me all along on how to cook. And when i get to learn, it was i who does the cooking, though the maid prepares the ingredients for me. I have to rest from work first, before cooking them though.

I would love to go home with my wife already cooked the dinner for me. But I would also want that at times, like your hubby did, I would cook the dinner for my wife and for the family.
I am quite a weird guy, I love the kitchen so much. I mean, if there's another thing I would want to do aside from working accounting, blogging or writing, that would be cooking. I would love to enroll in culinary arts if I could just afford to.
For practical reasons we may not get consistent answers from the lotters. There's a notion though that wives should cook but nowadays, it's about who got the time to do so. Because most modern day couples are both working.

in our home, my mom cooks more than my dad, i think 80% of the time. But my dad still loves to cook, A LOT. :)

On our Household, my younger brother is the one who do the cooking. My mother, she rarely cook. I remember when I was a kid my Grandma is the one who cook for us cause my mother and father are both working. Now it's always my brother or sometimes my grandma who cooks for us. I didn't enjoy cooking, just eating.LOL :)
