losing individuality in fashion

I was doing some reading on fashion and I came across one article which is interesting in that it says the most important quality of fashion is individuality, among others. That we tend to forget this aspect of fashion when we look at catalogues or try to look like celebrities. That designers “create their collection to emphasize one’s individuality and not to make a cult of brand name.” (Fashion in Modern Societym, Yafasova Alina 2004) I tend to agree with this idea of fashion and that we lose our own identity in trying to become someone else in fashion. What do you think mylotters?

i agree. if you wear the latest trend and everyone else is wearing it, where is the individuality? i shop at thrift stores and because i am creative, i mix things up some.

Yes, creativity and imagination can do much to come up with something "you." I use simple lines that does not change with the changing fads and make use of accessories. My favs are scarves and belts. Thanks for your response, cher.

fashion exists to tell people without style what to wear.
