i need to write a research proposal on the latest trend in IT today. any suggestions or ideas? please help...

maybe you could start with mobile apps? Android stuff are very much in demand, lately. Probably develop a new one. Or even develop a new OS haha LOL. But maybe it's better if you try to solve bugs in popular systems today.
