Is it possible to have preference or more love over one child than the other?

Being a single parent both of my kids tell me that I like the other one better than them or I show preference to the other than them (all the time). Of course I do not see this and I think I show and spend equal amounts of time with each but it got me to thinking about it and I thought I would ask if any of you get the same thing from your children? I know it is common for children to make such a gesture when they don't feel they are getting their way but it does make you wonder!!
