Are BLONDES really that DUMB?

No it isn't that true... it's really annoying how people generalize others. If one blonde is dumb, it doesn't mean everyone is- it just depends on the person. I believe no one is born dumb, it just depends on which school he or she is studying in and the quality of education..or just common sense.

Really? I heard people always say those blonde bimbo nothing but big boobs, and no brain, something like that. I don't know whether it is a truth or not. Maybe God just play fair with human beings. Those not so good - looking ones are the brain of the society, in opposite, those handsome or good looking will be the dumbest without brain. I guess that is the meaning of it.

no, hair colour doesn't make you dumb. some women who are dumb have brown or even black hair. i know i am not that smart (because i dont sleep properly- ever due to illness) but that is just a stereotype like saying that all Jewish people are rich. stereotypes only hurt people

LOL. I also noticed that and I wonder why. In movies and in some television shows, blondes are always shown as bimbos or attractive girls but dumbs. I think it's just a popular joke about blondes. I think it's so funny.

I believe this is a result of a development of a particular stereotype.(this is just my opinion!! so dont get angry and flame me!!) Let me try and explain:*Deep Breath* #Back in the day Girls who were pretty were married of to Rich Boys. #Therefore Girls had to be Really pretty in order to gather the attention of the richest guy. #The countries which had the richest men or people at all at the time were European. #Blonde women were the interest and local ethnicity at the time(and still is I believe). #So majority of the women at the time were preferred to be blonde and had no serious need to be smart(preferred dumb). #So the stereotypical "Pretty dumb Blonde" formed. But in todays society skin color , ethnicity , race, gender does not (and should not) bar anyone from anything.And therefore this stereotype is made fun of.Examples of which can be seen in some modern movies. I don't think that being dumb has anything to do with hair color. Sure, there are some rather stupid people, who are blonde. But there are also a number of individuals who are just as stupid and who aren't blonde. I think that we just associate being stupid with blondes because of jokes that have been going around.

This is the discrimination. The IQ has nothing to do with the hair color. Perhaps usually people think that the blondes are beautiful and therefore they don't have to study or work hard. And therefore it leaves other a wrong impression that they are pretty but stupid. This is wrong. I love China

Nah, they're just words. I am a brunette, not a blonde and I am really sure that being blonde doesn't mean you're dumb. In fact, dumb is not related to hair colour or even skin colour.

Well I have known some dumb people that are blond. However, I have known some dumb people that are brunette, red hair, black hair, no hair, you name it, and there have been a lot of dumb people. I don't think hair color really has anything to do with intelligence. Then again, with the dumb blond stereotype being out there, you might expect that a lot of people might be teased about this when growing up and thus they are subconsciously being geared to that due to that's what seems to be expected of them. It is really a self fulfilling prophecy in many ways. I think that its just one of those things where its something that has been enforced by society and also because of Hollywood. However it is not completely true. Hair color has nothing to do with intelligence or lack there of to say the very least. It is one of those things that people think something is true, therefore, those with that hair color feel that there is no reason for them to be intelligence on a subconscious level. Therefore, the stereotype is being reinforced on that level. It is one of those cycles that will never stop.

It's not fair to label such a man. It's a aberration people. It's like saying if you have green eyes are less intelligent than those with dark eyes, or vice versa. I find it silly. Hair, eye ... a person's physical appearance is not the slightest connection with the degree of intelligence. There are people stupid blond one, and one brunette, villagers redheads.

These jokes are highly exaggerated, some of them might be dumb, but definitely not all. Clear example of stereotyping. Anyway i think that people should not take offense to this kinds of joke as it is for the sole purpose of fun. If it becomes offensive, the person should stop immediately.
