Something's missing but I don't know what.......

Every time I'm on my own these past 6 or 7 years of my life I feel a sense of discontent in everything that I do. Achievements I get don't mean a thing to me. Performance is below par. Plans I make seldom gets done and nothing interests me anymore. It's like everything I try is boring. I'm still in the middle of exploring and so far not so good. But don't get me wrong I'm not suicidal, perhaps just a bit depressed. It's like I skipped on a part of my life and I can't remember which.
Do/Did you feel like I do? If you were once like this, how did you get that spark in your life back? A something or a someone maybe?

It happens at times , and I personally believe that everyone has to face such phases in life , I would not call these phases as depression but it signifies 'A CHANGE' , and you must know how to take a change 'POSITIVELY' . May be your life demands certain changes within you , search for it within you . Analyze your mistakes ( as all of us has made some ) , try to OPEN UP .
There are many ways to overcome it , but the best one is OPEN UP , be outgoing , know more people , meet new people , talk to them .
and at last START TRYING THINGS YOU HAVE NOT DONE BEFORE SOMETHING WHICH MAKES YOU HAPPY !!!! :)

That's kind of a big challenge. I'm not the type to open up with anyone much. I do go out and meet people sometimes. I am also trying new things, so far it hasn't worked. Hopefully there's something out there I'd find. Thanks!

Yea...I very well understand that you find it hard to open up with people , Thats what I am trying to tell you 'give it a try' .
The best way is start from the people who are already close to you and you trust them as well .
Ask yourself do they know you completely and do you know them completely ...
It's not necessary to trust many people but only a few good ones !!!
try to know people and if you take interest in others life others will automatically take interest in your life ...

what happened? Don't feel bad. Nobody is perfect. No situation is complete. There is always scope for achieving more and more. Whenever u get such a feeling tell within urself I am not going to feel depressed. I am Ok. Sorry I have not felt like that in 61 years. sometimes I use to feel bored due to loneliness --whenever I had to stay away from family for days together. I use to read books in those days, go for movies. Now of course if I feel bored I go to internet browse. make some dollars also. have a good day

I do psych myself every time I feel down but it only works temporarily. I also tried the internet but it only relieves me temporarily. Thank you very much for the insight.

It is better to have a variety -- reading books, watching movies, browsing internet like that. that makes it interesting. have a good day.

I think it sounds like you have withdrawn from your interests and lost your love for life and sense of accomplishment. I am no doctor so i cant say if you have depression or answer your question of what your life is missing expect by saying happiness, fullfillment, excitement, encouragement and a strong sense of selfworth is what everyone needs to be content and happy in their lives... whichever paths they choose to take! I think you should talk to a doctor or someone close to you that you trust - if theres noone the doctor will listen, understand and know the best way to deal with your problem which could be depression but could be something else thats bringing you down that maybe counselling could help with. They will try to get to the root of the feelings, by asking questions about your life like when you started feeling this way, And if anything significant changed at that time. what you can do to better your life, health and well being. There is support out there i hope your in a ountry where it is as accessable as it is in Australia. Our local GP could help us with problems like these within a few weeks without much cost at all. There are organizations and community groups here but I don't think I'm the kind to air out these things. I kind of gotten used to solving things on my own, that way I don't burden the people I know. Is counselling in your country really effective? It's not much here in the city where I live. Went to a Neuro something expert and all I got was a pep talk. You have a point on the fulfillment part, I probably need something like that. Thanks you so much for the insights!

Happiness and worries are two sides of our life. Our life is not always alike. We should face lots of sufferings along with happiness. One's best success comes after his greatest disappoints. When we solve one problem, the next one come into our doorsteps. That is life. Life is funny twisted, sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry. Unexpected results and problems are a part of life. But never loose hope in any condition. Because of darkness of the night always finishes with a light of the day. So don't loose your confidence. Don't loose your touch with God. He is always with you for your health. Ask Him, He will give. He can solve all our worries. Don't be away from our daily prayer. Don't loose our personal attachment with God. I can say that if we can pray with 100% belief, we can solve all our problems and personal worries.

True... Faith is a strong force.. but I'm still working on it. I can probably say I am at a 60 - 75 % right now and am still recovering...

It happens to most of us to feel discouraged from time to time and not be content with ourselves and the society we live in,but we really haven't got too many choices but to get over those feelings and try to improve,maybe do something different,so whenever I feel disappointed I try to engage in the activities that I really enjoy and help me restore a positive attitude towards life in general.

Maybe what you've missed is the time to enjoy whatever you have. I also felt the same before. Because of trying to prove myself to world, I almost forgot the true essence of life. Most people fail to see the real purpose of life because of being too attached to what the world is asking of us. I guess what you can do is to try to loosen up. Enjoy whatever comes your way without sacrificing your responsibilities. Make the most out of life and most especially to don't forget to pray. Ask help from the One up there. He is just waiting for your call. Living our life with God fills the emptiness inside us.

I could probably say I am still in the process of loosening up. I have also asked help from God but I can tell the answer will arrive to me for quite a while. God has probably already sent an answer to me but I just can't seem to receive it.
