My baby is 8 moths only now and he still doesnt eat much soilds. I will offer him something at each meal time and some times inbetween but he doesn't always eat much of it if any at all. Sometimes he will just get super fussy and not eat anything.
I have been wanting to try him on some finger snack foods as he always trying grabing the spoon, but he still doesn't have any teeth and I had given him a little rusk biscuit but it just crumbed and he chocked on it. I am planning on buying some of the melt in the mouth snacks next time I am out.
What food does your infants eat.

my baby started eating solid food when he was only four months... we started giving him mashed squash which is his favorite until now...
he started eating bread at 5months then rice on his 7 month.
now that he's a year old, we could give him corned beef,
i'm so happy that my baby is not a picky eater..
and another thing is that he likes veggies more.
i suggest you give your baby mashed veggies, squash would be a good choice for it is sweeter in taste that i'm sure your baby will love...

When you gave him bread, how did you give it to him. did you wet it down or just dry little bite size bits. my mum told me to give him bread but i'm scared his going to choke on it.

Hi abb in my opinion mine are twin children they are now 3 years old by now.I remember when they were of 8 months we had given them solid meals even doctor told me to give them but they were so weak at that time they hardly used to take solid things in mouth but one thing we always to do is to give them cerelac mixed with milk at night so that they may not feel hungry at night.

I have not given my son any solid food when he was 8 month old. At that time, I only gave him milk, infant cereal and some rusk biscuits. I started to give him some real solid food when he was about to turn one year old. I think cereal and milk should have enough nutrition for him.
For the rusk biscuits, maybe you can try putting it in some water or milk, and let him try if he likes it. By that way, he won't get chocked.

Before you start off on solid food it will be a good idea to get your baby used to semi solids first. Fruit pulps are are very tasty and nutritious. Though babies are curious about other tastes, they understand and appreciate sweets. A spoon of honey or some sugar will help them in overcoming their resistance to solid food. Snacks bought from stores are an unhealthy option, however hygienically packed. So please do not do that.
At 8 months your baby will now start experimenting with usage of his hands. Let him do it with the solid food. Be prepared for a big mess and a lot of wastage. I am sure some comic moments will be thrown in free by your boy.

I read that you shouldn't give a baby honey... I think it was because of bad reactions to it.
