Barcelona, the greatest club?

After their latest victory in the Champions League final, Barcelona is up there among the best in club football. Are they the best and who according to you have the honour. Some of the great teams that I have seen in action
1) Liverpool - They were the dominant team in the 80s and I have watched the team in the tail end of their dominance. They were a great team with Barnes, Rush, Johnston, Aldridge, Beardsley, Grobbelaar, McMahon, Molby, Hansen. They were a sight then.
2) AC Milan - Three Dutchmen formed the core of the team, Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard. They were supported by Donadoni, Baresi and Maldini. They sweep the Serie A and European Cup then.
3) Real Madrid - The original Galaticos. Zidane, Figo, Raul, Casillas and co was the team before the rise of the Catalan giant.

barcelona has to be the all time great team in the world as everyone watched how they dominated the game against the red devils in the champions league finals and even the greatest manager sir alex ferguson did nat have any idea on how to stop barcelona.i think they play the best football and have to admit they deserve the tag of the best club in the world!

thats true in some sense but he has done a great job consistently which makes him one of the best managers ,ya he has the best players in his team but still the football philosophy which he instilled in the team is great and that is why he has achieved a lot of success so i think he is one of the greatest managers.

Well you can say a lot about these teams, you mentioned. However I think only AC milan team could be compared to this currently team, in terms of style and flare. No doubt the liverpool it good, and the Real Madrid team great. However the teams lack of real competition.

I think this is the greatest team today if not of all time. What is better in this team compared with the other three teams you mentioned is that most of the talent here has come from it's own academy. It is not purchase of big stars that has made this team successful, but the good old way of team building from a very young age.

I agree with everyone here who says that Barca is the best team now and of all time. The best thing about Barca is that their team is soooo young and will be a powerhouse for at least another couple years.

I am not that old, so I can surely affirm that this team of Barcelona is the best team I have ever seen. I am not the fan of them, but I think they are at the highest level possible. Another great I have seen was the Bayern Munchen team from '98 till 2001 when they were playing very well and attractive as well, and winning trophies also. Because I am a Bayern fan, this team remains the best for me, but if I take it objectively, then I can say that the current team of Barca is the best team I have seen. As for teams I haven't seen, I can say that the team of Real from the 50s, the national team of Hungary from the 50s, nicknamed the Golden Team, the German national team and the Bayern team from the 70s were very good as well, and of course the teams you have witnessed.

You have to admit that the Barcelona team is the best team around the world recently.
However, if you look back into history of each team dominating the world of football.
There is no club could remain dominant for a long period of time. Because the competition is so fierce and it's hard for a team to maintain its best state and best players.
So today the best team of Barcelona does not mean it remains the best tomorrow.
