Spending to keep our economy going.....

It truly amazes me at how much money each of us has to spend in order to help our "economies" grow.
Not to long ago when we all thought things were going well, as all of us now the market crashed and many companies went for a spin down and out of our societies. This left many people unemployed and still unemployed almost 2 years later.
Many businesses fear trying to hire more people because of what happened. Well, maybe if they wouldn't sink so much in the "stock" market stuff like this wouldn't happen an there would be money to hire employees who truly want to work.
I really feel for the small business owners out there, after being one myself and knowing what a community can do to help make or break your business. If that community is heavily based on people who are very frugal (even the rich) then it can be difficult to strive and become a stronger part of a community. I wish you all the best of luck.
How can we keep our economy going if work can't be found and people can't afford to even keep a roof over their heads.

And here, you have just busted wide open the fallacy of the "trickle-down" theory of economy.
We cannot spend money if we are unemployed. And as long as big business sits tight on its cash reserves and refuses to hire more workers, we remain unemployed, and thus have no money to pump back into the economy.
The money to hire employees is, indeed, there; the disconnect lies with the rich who refuse to hire us commoners, until we commoners start spending money again -- while wondering why we commoners aren't spending money, when in reality we have no income, because the rich refuse to hire us, and so we have no money, and so...
And so on it and on goes.
I think the assets of the rich should be frozen until each and every rich person is forced to try to support him/herself and his/her family on a McJob wage for at least one year. Attitudes would change smart-quick.

I love your view point. Since they constantly put "hiring freezes" on us, lets do something to them, that will hurt their "bottom-line." Great idea. Now if we can find a government that would be willing to stand up to the rich and do something about it.

In my opinion, economics is now no longer classed as a "science" but as one of the "arts". It has changed completely since I went to school. It's all about spending money that you haven't got! No real money? OK, use virtual money instead.
Work, or jobs, call it what you like, aren't part of economics anymore, nor are they part of government planning. It is a "lost" artifact that nobody wants to find or confront.

Good point. It doesn't exist anymore. You are absolutely correct. It is all about those numbers and spending all the time. Wow, I'm glad there are others out there seeing what is happening as well. It is almost like many people are walking around with blinders on and not paying attention.

It's good to keep a budget. Have a monthly plan. However there are unexpected situation, when money is needed. But overall it is preferable to have a good financial responsibility. There are many companies that should think and calculate before acting. It is possible to make money last with good administration. Or to save a little over a longer time to make to become a larger amount of money. Poverty is a hard teacher teaching you to survive on little.
