I remember when I was very young a little girl I always wanted a jewelery box but not any jewelery box the one where when you opened it it had the tiny ballerina and when you opened it she would twirl around and the music would play, L.O.L. I remember the one I had was a white jewelery box with the tiny ballerina and I can't tell you how many times I would open and close it!! Dis you ever have one of those? I wish I still had mine. God only knows what happened to it?

I remember those! They used to be the must have back when I was a litlee irl! Now, I don't exactly remember if I had one, but I might have or maybe that was my sister. I think they all played similar songs when you opened it as well as the ballerina twirled around in a circle.

I can remember having one of these jewelry boxes as a young girl. the ballerina danced and it played the love theme from the film Dr. Zhivago. i was heartbroken when my younger brother broke the ballerina off. It still played the music and i could still use the jewelry box but it just wasn't the same.

Aww So sorry to hear that your brother broke it! Brothers can be mean at times especially when we were young!!

I am pretty sure that was Laura's Theme for the name of the song from Dr. Zhivago.
Loved that movie!

You girls are not going to beleive this. My childhood sweetheart got me one when he gave me my pre-engagement ring.
This was given to me upon graduation from high school. 30 days after both of us graduating, he went to Ft Leonard Wood Army base for basic training.
31 days later I left for Ft. McClellan Army base for WAC basic training.
I kept my little ring safe in that box when I needed to take it off.
But when I entered basic training, I was not allowed to take personal items.
I had to remove my ring during training too.
On weekends I was allowed to wear my ring.
After basic and AIT (our training for our job) I wrote my mom to send me my jewelry box, and she had given it to the little girl next door.
She had no idea the level of depth that jewelry box meant to me.
Do they even still sell them?
I will have to look now LOL
thanks for the memories and have a wonderful day!

Wow that is a great thing and sounds like a great memory!! I don't know if they sale them anymore but it just somehow crossed my mind yesterday and I was thinking about one and maybe next time I go to a Garage Sale or maybe even a thrift store? Have a great day yourself and I hope we can all find one!!

I remember that jewelry box. My mom has it when I was a young girl and I am very fascinated about the twirling ballerina. It is really nice to look at it and just like you I would often would close and open it just to see it dance. My mom had a black jewelry box and a white ballerina. I didn't have one of those though, since I barely have any jewelries to put on a jewelry box.

I just bought one of those for a friend's child! She's excited about it, but I really find it poorly designed and with some ugly colors now And my friend, the child's mother, really hates the tune, says it drives her crazy all day
I still have my jewelry box from when I was a child, only mine wasn't with a ballerina, it was just a music box without any figurine. No idea how it stuck with me after all those years

Yes I had that one. But instead of ballerina, I got two dancing crystals in my jewelry box / music box. And I even let it open for hours! I just felt bad when that box broke, and cannot be repaired anymore, then the crystals went missing.

I still have mine. It is a log cabin and it does have the ballarina inside that dances when you open the box. Thank you for reminding me of this. I had put it away in a box because a couple of the logs had come loose on it and I wanted to fix it up. It's been packed away for years. I think I'll dig it out and fix it up for my grand daughter. She is 5 and she will love it!

I believe I still have mine in a box in my basement. I have to admit though. I had 2 brothers so I spent more time playing baseball, basketball, etc. I was the only girl so I didn't spend a whole lot of time doing girl activities. Best Wishes!
