Old Photo Albums

The last time that I was in my parent's house, I noticed that the old photo albums were not in their old place. It's nowhere that I could find. I asked my mom and she told me that she kept in a box since they are no use anymore. It's not like the old days that when someone comes for a visit, they will have interest in watching photos stored in it. Unlike today, they can easily see your photos through Facebook for example without going to your home. Somewhat sad but it's technology.
How about you, are you still using a photo album for your pictures (the physical one) these days? Or are you storing them in a USB or somewhere else your PC or cellphone?

yes because we always want to go for what is easy to do specially if we are a busy person.

I like to do both depending on what the pic is. I think that photos are an important part of history and I believe that a lot of it is being lost as computers crash and people lose pictures that could have told a story.
Always back your photos up on a disk so that you will still have access to them if you lose your album on your computer.

I recently like to keep pictures. It reminds me of the memories I couldn't get back. I have keep some tangible pictures and others were saved in my drive. It's good to keep.
When I saw my husband's picture, he was elementary student , he and my son got a close resemblance. My son often claimed that it was he in the picture.

Come to think of it, yes, nowadays, we don't buy photo albums anymore. New pictures are stored in the PC. Maybe because each one in our family are already busy that we don't have time to enjoy printed pictures and talk about it around the table like we did a long time ago. It was always an event when my mom put the printed pictures on an album while we gathered around laughing about the expressions on the pictures. I miss those days..:(

I went through the same experience - I couldn't find the old photos in my parent's house, and it made me sad, there were a lot of memories there. I have scanned some of the family photos and saved them on disks; I've even processed some of them, added color to the black and white photos or enhanced some details that I liked.
On the other hand, photos in electronic format aren't forever, either. I've already damaged one disk and lost a lot of photos on it. And I really don't feel comfortable uploading all of them on the Internet, I'd still like some privacy for me and my family.

yes, physical copies are still better than having them on a disk. I love the idea that you enhanced some of the old photos you have.. Might do it too, I will still need to dig the old photos first.. :)

well, we still use photo albums to keep pictures. and i think that it will never be replaced because we still develop pictures (as a hard copy).
the feeling of looking at your pictures (the physical one) is still different than that of just looking it at a pc or cp and just hitting next...next...next.

I do actually keep photo albums but I have to admit that most of them are packed away in a box. I would dig them out if someone actually wanted to go thru them but for the most part they just sit in the box. When I get new photos I do show some of them to those who might be interested. I figure they are part of the family history and so I will continue to keep them.

I would still prefer to have the hard copy of photos and compile in albums.. Too sad with thousand of pictures i have since the last time i printed photos, it would be so expensive to print all. I compile my photos in USB and hopefully would be store some in CD if i have some time. Its always been one of the things i wanna do is making an scrapbook. But i dont really know if i can be able to do it. So much things to do and so little time.. I am not so comfortable storing memorable pictures in my phone or pc. Im afraid that my laptop will somewhat break down sometime or my cellphone will be lost. I try to transfer my pictures from my phone to my laptop and save it to usb. I am more comfortable doing that way.

I still use photo albums as they are easy to view. Especially when there are guests, they would prefer looking at pictures than just read newspapers. But I also keep some on USB as backup in case some guests want copies of a photo.
