Cheese?

I have noticed that every time I have gone to the grocery store I end up buying cheese the shredded kind and I am seeing that no one hardly ever eats it and I feel like I am wasting my money there my husband doesn't like cheese unless it is on a quesadilla oops don't know how to spell that, L.O.L. But anyway does this sort of thing happen to you buying a certain item at the store and finding every time you buy it no one ever seems to eat it? I am going to stop buying it!!

The word "quesadilla" was spelled right, J.A.. As for cheese, I use grated parmesan cheese in soups, salads, pasta, you name it. But the grated cheese can be used not only when prparing lasagne, pizza but just over a good french bread, dried oregano and shreded cheese and to the oven to melt. This last way is wonderful for an easy lunch when you prefer to be mylotting or just cozilly watching TV. I don´t buy extra things because I learned from experience that I ended throwing away good thins. So now I made a list of every possible item and check if I have it or not. With that I make my list for the super. Easy and thrifty!

Many times, when I´m in a hurry, I make a fake pizza with bread, cheese, a slice of tomato, dry oregano and ham or black olives if I have them. And to the oven! YUMMY!!! Have a lovely day!

I love cheese and even if they do not like it or my family do not like it I do not care, I will just eat it all. Buying something which is for you is nice but they do not mind at all is easier to accept than when you prepared to cook with all out effort then in just a split second to hear the hurting comments of "it is bland, not palatable"well I will just fry eggs.

How's the consistancy on it after you thaw it out? I'd love to stock up if I could.

Cheese is something my house runs out of quite often. It also hasn't had the best the sales on it either. I got sick of kids inhaling it before I could make what I bought it to make. And sadly I only have so much money to spend, they inhale it then we're outta luck for a bit.

Exactly so any kind of cheese is a special treat in my house. I can't afford to go thru several lbs of cheese a week to appease them. And of course if you buy alot of cheese you need to buy and make foods that don't bound you up like the cheese does.

I bought a quesadilla machine and now we run out of shredded cheese often. My 2 teeagers make them every day as a snack. I usually grill sliced chicken and steak and put them in the fridge for them so they can add them to their quesadillas. My son adds hot salsa and my daughter puts queso inside hers. I buy a lot of shredded cheese - lol.

Gosh cheese would not last here, lol we are like mice and especially me. I love to put it just about on anything. As for any items it is usually the bread. Funny if I buy two loaves they go bad. When I buy one it goes fast. But usually we do not buy anything we know will go bad too quickly because we learned a while ago about what a waste that is. So perhaps you should do the same with the cheese. Only pick up a small amount when you know you are going to make the quesadillas. Yum I love those.

Hi. jahernandezrivas. I feel this way about many foods that I have eaten and bought. I have seen fiesta onions that were from Piggly Wiggly that were hardly bought. So, I still bought them and they were going to be expiring really quickly. But, I don't know how many people actually bought them, but I may stop because I don't like the way that they taste, so I will stop buying them.

Well maybe you have lots of money so you just buy things that appeal to your eyes. Well just kidding but it could be true! Money is hard to earn so even if my pocket is full I always make it a point to be a wise spender. I don't buy things I don't need or food we don't even eat.

I don't have a lot of money but I really wish I did!! L.O.L. I hate it every time my husband asks me to cook I will cook and then he will say I will eat later and sometimes he doesn't eat but 2 bites and I am too full to finish his plate too so I put it in the fridge and it winds up getting thrown out! That makes me so angry!!

When i go to the grocery i make it a point to make a checklist first beforehand..so i wont get to buy things that we wont be using...I find it a waste of money if i realize that i do not need that item. It happened before when i do not have a list with me, i think that time i bought a toothbrush holder lol..it looks like this small umbrella and you can insert the toothbrushes in it..it looked useful! But when i started putting the toothbrushes in it, some do not fit! lol like those of my kids because they are smaller and it keeps on toppling down because the weight is not balanced..anyway i realized it was useless and it ended up as a toy for my kids, the toothbrushes? all in a mug. hahhahaha

I love cheese! IN our family everybody loves pizza so because money is tight we have to buy bread, put on a pizza sauce, slice hotdog or ham, pineapple bits then shredded cheese on top! then everybosy have a blast eating their own pizza bread :) If your the only one who eat cheese in your family that's ok you can still buy it. but buy the block cheese not the shredded so that you can put it in the freezer then shred some if you want cheese. :)

My kids loves cheese a lot and can't stuck that stuff in fridge for a longer time. Yes,there is a good canned fish that i like buying my kids don't like. It's a fried dace from Japan, and it tastes good for me,but my kids never liked it. One can takes me 3-4 meals to finish because it's a big canned fish and nothing comes in a smaller can. So,i don't buy it as often each time i went for groceries. Better buy cheese and cheese and my kids will surely give me a kiss :)

Well i always prefer savings over convenience if I have a chance, that's the reason why we never bought or experienced buying grated cheese, it's not popular here either and don't think any normal middle class house hold would patronize it. Anyway different kinds of cheese have different properties so some kinds would be easier to grate because they don't stick to the grater, good quality cheddar is one.

mmm cheese... cheese does not last long in our house. We buy the huge $25 brick from costco which will last 2 weeks in our house if we are lucky! I shred it myself if I need it shredded. (way cheaper as previously mentioned) My house its Bananas. I buy em, some weeks they get eaten within days - other weeks I have black smelly things sitting on my counter (then they get moved to my freezer so at a later date they can become banana bread ) when I can no longer fit anything else in my freezer due to the banana overload - I threaten to never buy em again... but then I do.. alas - my cross to bear lol

Try using it in different things like italian food, grilled cheese sandwiches, mixed in with scrambled eggs, etc. You can also try looking up recipes online that require cheese, most likely you can use shredded cheese for many, many recipes. Good luck with your cheese dilemma! ;)

I do buy shredded cheese but only if i feel like making some tacos for dinner which nobody likes but my husband. LOL Yes, you should quit buying the cheese if no one eats it at home. I've stopped buying hotdogs after realizing that i was the only one eating them right before they expire. haha

Yes it happens to me. But not with cheese. Cheese doesn't last very long at my house. It got to a point when I find it on sale I buy extra and freeze it.

I buy milk a lot. We rarely drink it. So it goes bad. Nothing like wasting money. I do drink a glass once in a while. I suppose if we didn't use it for cooking some meals, I wouldn't buy it. Best Wishes!
