What do you miss about your mom? Is is her pancakes and cheesy cheesecakes, apple pies and whatever pie is it? Is it her never ending sermon every time you make mistake or whenever you arrive home late? Or it might be her more than ten commandments?
I miss my mom whenever I take my vitamins. I remember when I was still young, my mom used to get home late from work. Upon arriving home, she always head straight to my room and wake me up just to check if I'm done with my vitamins. If I'm not, she will shake me from sleep and force me to take my vitamins with my eyes closed. Then in the morning, she will remind me once again before leaving for work..
Hmmm.. that's my mom.. :)

Hi Aphrodite !
As I have grown up, my mothers' attitude towards me has changed a lot. From directing me to my homework, she has now come to consulting me for her problems, most of which are related to maths..lolz..
Actually, my mother takes tuitions for toddlers, and I was the first to enroll; followed by my friends..ha ha.. This has been her favorite hour of the day, since my kindergarten days.
Now, being a college student, I really miss how she used to teach me in my childhood days, considering I was the kind of boy whose bums were attached with spring..lol... Boy! I couldn't sit at one place for more than 30 seconds.
I really miss her scoldings so much, that now, I deliberately prank out hoping to get some. But she refuse to do so.. taking my pranks as a way of showing my affection for her.

eljayo,
missing your mom is part of moving to your own home (specially if you are married) but there are many ways for you not to feel that you are both living in a separate house and it's more from your part to always make a bridge for both of you.
Good luck to your new home.

reallysunny,
be happy with what you are now and live your life the best as you could so that someday that you will be with you mom, you will have something to be proud of not only for yourself but also for her. Tell her that your life has been great because of her.
nuc,
I agree with you 100%.

They might not enjoy the food you cooked for them but they will never forget that you were their cook. They may not talk about how good you cook but instead they will talk how terrible cook you are but the point is that they have you in their hearts, not only as a their mom who does not know how to cook but a mom who is greater than the best cook around.

I miss my mom's cooking. Being a mother now, I have to cook meals for my family. How I wish I have my mother nearby so I can ask her what to prepare everyday. I wish I could cook as good as my mom. she seems to whip up a special dish with anything available.

we always say "how I wish my mom was here" but we seldom say that "how I wish I could be a good mom just like my mom". We are different from our mom but I guess we could be the best mom just like her or better. We will learn from this once we will become a mother to our own family. Enjoy being a mom watergirl.:)

I miss just about everything about my Mom. Her cooking, her smile, the smell of her hair, the feel of her lips on my forehead. At Xmas time I miss the carols she sung to herself in her native language. At nights the hushed sound of her prayers. Mostly I miss that she is the only one that would ever love me unconditionally.

Ralph,
I can't blame you for feeling that way but I guess there is a big reason for your mom to do so. Be thankful that grandma is always there..
