For what i know, Desktop PCs will go on and on. Industries like ATi, NVidia or Intel are probably interested mostly on Productivity, and a Tablet PC or an IPad can't be as productive as a Desktop PC.

No, I don't think so. Desktop PCs are still pretty powerful and they too are getting more and more compact. As for me, I still prefer my PC and only use a laptop or iPad less rigorous work and leisure. :P

the reasons why it can't beat desktop computer for me is because of keyboard, the size of keyboard.... if you are a speed typist, those new gadgets will never beat Personal Computers...

No, a tablet pc is way too small to provide all the power you get from a desktop pc. Also the powerusage of a desktop is much higher than that of a tablet pc, so the battery wouldn't last long if you want to work with it like you would with a normal computer

No, they can't, They will kill Laptops and smart mobile phone. No worried For your PC is stay as same on desktop as more light weight, less space. Tablet and IPAD take places for Laptops and Netbook as well as smart phones

Look at the Netbook, why would anyone want a netbook now due to the fact that tablets exist. You are very limited with a tablet but I think they are becoming more and more popular because of there size but battery life and the life of a delicate tablet might steer a person into buying a low budget PC. Prices have dropped drastically on Computers and that may be why HP is pulling out.

I don't think so. Although the iPad and tablet PC seems to be much more convenient. However, we have to get used to its operating system, too. Namely you may not use some software and games as well as on your personal computers. And the feeling to touch the screen and keyboard is still different. A personal computer can do much more professional staff. Sometimes I just regard the iPad as a portable game. I love China

Hi there, No I do not think they will kill personal computers. Simple because you cannot have more then one tab open with ipads therefore PC will though are very helpful and useful they are expensive and do not have all the functions as a PC would have.

Its a no. Hardwarewise, PCs are way more powerfull. Unless tablets allow you to play games like Crysis, Starcraft 2 et al, they will not be in the same league as the pc.

well I don't think that the tablets will obsolete the person computers but they will have a great impact on the netbooks because they offer almost all the features of the netbooks maybe more and the difference mostly lies in the screen size. Instead of going for a general purpose pc like for world processing or internet i will prefer a tablet but generally I use complex softwares like labview and matlab, so for me I have to stick to a good configuration pc. have a nice day

I don't know for certain but I think the personal computer will still be around. Some people are known to clung to old tends, even if they can afford the the newest, the latest and hot-off the press console. Also, some people will insists on how a personal computer 'feels' compared to the sleek and light computer consoles. There are still many advantages to a personal computer that others cannot have(but perhaps, in time, those will be covered with). The first is the space and memory. The second is the personal computer's separate peripherals. If only a part of the personal computer is damaged or needs to be replaced, only that part will need some attention. There are others but I cannot prattle on because I'm no IT expert. Personally, I'll keep the two (if I can afford the tablet). I have back issues with my PC that the tablet can alleviate. Also, the portable of the tablet is a big sell for me. But I won't throw away my beloved PC. That machine and I went a lot thru together and no skinny and touch-sensitive tablet can change that.

I think there are still too many differences between these products, so probably there will be an integration between them, not a serious competition. In the end, I think we'll see many more tablets than we do now, but there will be many more computers as well. Also, many industries will probably keep using desktop computers, since they're more reliable and powerful.

hi tablet pc is ot so comfortable like desktop or laptop. you can;t hold it for long time like laptop in your hand. Professional computer user still like to use desktop pc not even laptop. tablet pc is like a video game thing. by using tablet pc you can't get same speed or accuracy like desktop pc. Still in the offices people use desktop pcs. tablet pcs are just a fashion brand nothing else.
