Is a vegetarian diet healthier?

Research has shown that eating a vegetarian diet can cut down on the risk of heart disease and cancer, so why are so many people prepared to sacrifice their health for their dinner?

Pure vegan is not healthy to us. People should eat egg,milk and fish. Because their body need protein. People long time don't eat meat easily become old. So pure vegetarian diet isn't healthy enough.
Food is God for the people. Most of people like cate,more delicious food is often less healthy. Such as pizza,hamburger,ice cream etc. They are delicious,but aren't healthy. Many people can't resist them is excusable.

A vegetarian diet is healthier as long as you have added source of Vitamin 12 which is deficient in a vegetarian diet.People sometimes skips dinner if they need to lose weight.

I think that a well balanced meal is good for your health. But I also like to eat something that appeals to my senses. I want a nice dish for my eyes, a good smelling food for my nose and a yummy tasting dish for my taste buds. Sometimes this can be done with only veggies, sometimes I want meat of any kind.

It's really hard to sacrifice the food you've been eating for many years, since it has been the habit of people to eat pork and chicken... it's hard to just give those all up. I think it's okay for people not to be a full pledged vegetarian, but they should also eat fruits and veggies everyday..

I will not say vegetarian diet is totally healhty and those who are not vegetarian and eat meat live in a unhealthy lifestyles. I give you a few examples down here and you tell me your opinion.
1. Between donut and lean meat, which is healthier? For me it is lean meat.
2. Process meat for vegetarian or real meat for non-vegetarian? For me it is the real meat.
3. Vegetables with a lot of process dressing and prawn and lobsters salad with natural juices dressing? I will say it is prawn and lobsters salad with fresh juice dressing is healthier.
So it is all the matter of choice and moderation.

you are very right on the point that veg diet is healthy and it has been clinically proven
but the thing s veg diet lacks a few of nutrition that are essential for human body
so only using vg diet one misses that nutrition and
as we know our body is very sensitive and lack a nutrition for long time leads to some
state of body that can not be counted as healthy

You cannot say whether a veg diet is healthier or a non veg. All it matters is that your body needs some specific amount of nutrients per day and if this ids fulfilled then its all right. Although his is the truth some say that veggies have a healthier life the reason is because many non veg dishes are full of cholestrol and its bad for health, its good in minimum amount.
But overall what matters is the things you eat.
