Climate change caused by excessive consumerism and pollution

I remember watching a CNN NEWS about climate change being an accepted threat to our planet but still there is not enough political action to control such things like excessive consumerism and pollution. In my personal opinion, I agree with the fact that one of the biggest problems that our planet is facing today is the problem on our environment specifically climate change. I believe that this is brought about by human's excessive use on our natural resources and human activities causing excessive pollution. Humans have been destroying our planet everysince the Industrial Revolution began. During the Industrial Revolution, many buildings were established destroying the natural habitat of wildlife animals. Humans have been converting farm lands into industrial lands. They have been using the lands for the establishment of commercial buildings and have cut down some trees for making furniture. They have used the animal's skin for the production of some materials like shoes, bags, jackets, hats and belts leading to the extinction of some wildlife animals. Human's excessive consumption of the natural resources leads to climate change. For instance, illegal logging causes flood and soil erosion.Killing of endangered animals leads to the extinction of those animals. However, there is still no political action to stop this excessive consumerism by humans. Humans have also destroyed the environment in another way such as polluting the environment. human activities like belching smoke from their engines leads to air pollution, spilling oil and dynamite fishing causes water pollution and throwing garbage anywhere leads to land pollution. All these activities lead to different kinds of pollution which also affects our planet. So, how can we minimize if not stop climate change caused by excesive consumerism and pollution?
