Do you prefer swimming in the sea, pool, spring or river?

I could remember when I was younger we'd go to the beach at least once every week. I could remember when it was summer vacation I'd be black and the only thing visible to me are the whites of my eyes and my teeth!
These days I'm more concerned about my skin tone, so I no longer go to the beach much often, I think in a year I only go about three times to a max of 5 times. However, if asked which types of water I like to swim in, I would probably choose cold springs or hot springs anytime over the beach or the river. I just find springs refreshing and revitalizing because when you leave you don't feel icky and sticky like the beach or saltwater does. Though, there are problems with the body being denser if in sea water compared to fresh water, which means that if you're not really good with swimming, it's difficult to go for fresh water.
How about you? which body of water do you prefer to swim in?
a. Salt water / Beach
b. Fresh water / Springs
c. Open Fresh water / River
d. Chlorinated Water / swimming pools
Thanks for the responses!

i actually prefer to swim in pools but a dip once in awhile in the open sea is fine with me. swam in both rivers and springs and there really isn't much difference. what's important for me is the safety in swimming in these areas and how clean the water is. i think in both categories, safety and cleanliness, swimming pool tops the other three.
just my opinion though.
swim safely!!!

It's true that safety is a huge factor in choosing which body of water to swim in. Perhaps this is why most parents would rather that their kids go swimming in pools (mostly in the kids pools). But I guess the safest body of water yet would be the one at home - shower room. hahahahaha

For me, I prefer to swim in beach. My house is near the beach so often to swim there. Beside most of my friends call me the beach girl.
sometimes i also go to waterfall to swim. it is kind of refreshing compare to beach. But still i love beach compare to pool or waterfall.

I love swimming in a pool. There is something refreshing about it, but I also really like bing in the ocean and letting the waves crash over me and diving underneath them and letting them carry me into shore. its almost natural feeling I love it. But also I wish I could go into a pool and not be all sandy and salty from the ocean,

First off, I don't know how to swim. I would love to swim in a sea but I can't. I'm too afraid of drowning. That's not even a good subject to entertain.
So, I would prefer swimming in a pool. At least I can gauge the depth of the water before jumping in.

Since I grew up relatively close to the beach I have to say I prefer the beach. I remember sometimes me and my friends used to go in the afternoon for just a while. Those are my most cherished memories with my friends. We had a blast those days.

I grew up near the beach but there are times in a year when its too hot to stay or swim in the beach so we trek some seven miles inland and took a dip near a waterfall. The water was so cold that our lips became pale. I go whenever my mind and body tell me where to go to swim.
