No, it is worse than that. Our fearful leaders are doling out money to countries we borrow from, countries with more $ in the bank than we have. What the hell is wrong with our politicians? U.S. handed out a total of $1.4 billion to 16 foreign countries that held at least $10 billion in Treasury securities, Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/06/02/us-offers-foreign-aid-to-countries-holding-billions-in-treasury-securities/#ixzz1OEGEviZq And we need to raise the debt ceiling? Because they have been such good stewards of our money? I dont think so. It is time to cut Washington off.

Unfortunately, many in Congress and the criminal "administration" that now reigns are he--bent on destroying our economy. How do we cut them off? Voting hasn't worked, petitioning, faxing, calling....... They ignore and mock us.

I disagree, our recourse is voting. Unfortunately there are still way too many uninformed voters that just check off the letter next to the name.

You are both right, I do have to say that voter intimidation, should hold a severe punishment.

@ EPICURE: I worked for our election a while back and I can confirm that its not always what it should be. Im in Canada, so you'd think that it doesnt really matter who is in power but it does. Its fixed, its been for years and will always be. I havent voted for years and dont plan on voting anytime soon.....unless they want to name me Senator so I can have a fat pension!! All governments are run by the worst kind of criminals. Yet some people believe in them.....why....because of Propaganda!! it worked during WW2 and they still use it.

I guess no one ever thought of paying off the debt instead of just giving money away. At least they could try and keep up with the interest that we owe...We are so far behind in interest that it is frightening.

hey what a great idea, actually paying off the debt. Next thing you know, you will be suggesting balancing a budget, or even creating a budget....

When you want something from Paul or to be liked by Paul why not rob from Peter who you don't care about. Why not steal from Peter (American Tax Payer) and give to Paul (our questionable friend or even our enemy) when you despise Peter.

I know what you mean! We are in debt up to our eyebrows, and they want to raise the debt ceiling so that we can give away more money that we don't have! How in the heck does this make sense?? And I wonder why the State Department did not respond??!! No surprises there.

Well how do you think we get China, Brazil, India, Mexico, etc. to hold our treasury securities? We give them money and they buy our Treasury Securities... Makes perfect sense to me... I also think we should give more foreign aide to countries so they'll like us even more... Makes perfect sense to me. Buying "friendship" has always worked in the past. Until it didn't... I can't believe our "leaders" can't find anything to cut. I'm so frustrated with ALL branches of government right now, I could just puke. But instead, I'll go out and take my frustration out on my bushes...
