Do you wear eyeglasses or contacts?

I'm nearsighted and i've been wearing glasses since I was 25. I've tried contacts 3x before but they irritated my eyes so i just prefer glasses now. My daughters are like me so they're wearing glasses also. The older one doesn't want to wear them at all times and her eyes aren't that bad but my younger one is just like me. I just got her contacts 2 days ago though cause she said that's what she wanted as a gift for her graduation. She feels more pretty and confident now. What about you do you wear eyeglasses or contacts? If so, why do like them instead of the other?

I use both.. I use contacts if i am in school or some places outside home. If i am home like watching movies or reading, i use my glasses. I am more comfortable having my glasses on when i am home.

That's what my daughter does now. It's always more comfortable having glasses on at home. Thanks for your response.

I am short sighted. In order to see something I would have to hold the item very close in front of me. Distant things would just be a blur to me. Therefore from 10 years old until 20 years old I had eye glasses. Then in Sydney when I was 21 years old I got contact lenses. I found I liked these much more than eye glasses. Having daily disposable contact lenses is like having normal eyesight. I throw the ones I am wearing away before I go to bed. When I wake up in the morning I wear my eye glasses. Before my shower I put in my new pair of contact lenses. When I first had contact lenses I had to clean and store them every night. They lasted for two weeks before I discarded them. Then back inn Europe I found contact lenses that lasted for one month. I felt more confident when I got my contact lenses. Before then I had a pair of eye glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses.

I do have prescription sunglasses also. It's just a must during summer especially when driving. I picked the monthly disposable contacts for my daughter cause i want her to learn how to be responsible by cleaning her contacts after each use. The daily disposables are really good and convenient though but they're much pricey. Thanks for responding.

If haven't have the chance to wear contacts yet! Hmm.. i think thats because if i wear contact at early age if will have side effects in the near future. But I think contact are great but glasses is not bad too.But if you're playing sports contact will be better. But if you're getting dirty... wear glasses.Because if you wear contact while getting dirty, you will get yourself in a messy situation.Take care! :)

Like you I'm also nearsighted. I have been wearing contact lenses since 2006, but I still do have glasses I use whenever I'm just at home sitting in front of the computer. I prefer contact lenses especially when going out as glasses don't fit me, and like your daughter I feel more pretty with contacts. :)

I am nearsighted with astigmatism and have been wearing glasses for over 30 years now and during that time I have worn both glasses and contacts, but prefer wearing glasses. The reason I prefer glasses over contacts is: they are basically more comfortable and easier to wear. I have dry eyes so wearing contacts are uncomfortable after a while or I have to keep using rewetting drops and it just isn't worth it, with glasses you just have to clean them and put them on and that is about it. I also have never had a vanity issue wearing glasses and having to wear glasses was just not a big deal to me. I also learned many years ago that after the first couple days of wearing them nobody cared that I was wearing glasses and once I figured that out, I never was self conscious about wearing them again. Another big part of being or feeling confident and looking good while wearing glasses: it's imperitive that you find a frame or frames that compliment your features and you are happy with. If you can find the right frame it's easier to feel confident wearing them. I have seen many women who look very attractive in glasses and I have met many who actually look better in their glasses then without them. Women definitely have an advantage over men because they can actually use glasses in their wardrobe as an accessory, I know one lady who has over 20 pair of glasses and mixes them up all the time and she has great taste because they all look great on her. The only man I've known who can pull this off is Elton John!

I actually wear both because it can sometimes get annoying for me to always have contacts on. The glasses help my eyes to relax that is what is recommended anyway. SO why not I feel comfortable wearing both, but I do feel that my confidence goes up when ever I am wearing my contacts because when I have my glasses I feel that people can't really see my eyes because their the glasses that turn dark when they are in the light. I have had my bad times with contacts, but that's only when I started off my eyes would get really irritated, but now I am used to my contacts and I wear them as if nothing. One thing though if you wear liquid eyeliner and that gets into your eyes than it won't be a good mix especially with contacts I stopped using that and my eyes didn't get irritated anymore.

I wear eyeglasses most of the time. I tried using contacts and it is okay for me. I just use eyeglasses more often because it is convenient and easy to use.

I've been wearing glasses since grade school becuase aside from astigmatism, I'm also myopic. When I was in college I tried contacts but my eyes are very dry so eventually I had to go back to wearing my plastic-rimmed glasses. Anyway, I commuted quite often then so it was more convenient for me to just use my glasses which not only improved my eyesight, but also protected my eyes from dust and other harmful particles.

I wear eyeglasses and I also have nearsightedness with astigmatism. I don't like contacts becuase they very high maintenance in a sense. Besides, my glasses offers me comfort and flexibility that a pair of contact lens doesn't. A major thing is that if I buy a pair of contacts for my condition, it would cost me four times than I would on a pair of glasses. Contact lenses also need to replaced regularly which is downside compared to the 'longevity' of my glasses.

I wear eyeglasses now, but I'm going to buy a new contact lens soon. I think eye glasses is more essential than contact lens. Contact lenses should not be used for long hours because it might irritate your eyes. I think wearing eye glasses and contact lenses should be balanced. Wear contact lenses on special occasion or if your going to parties or you can wear it while your working in the office but wear your glasses if your just staying home to rest your eyes.

I have astigmatism in both of my eyes and have been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old. My mom would not let me get contacts until I was 16! :0 A few years later my eyesight got so bad that it was too much trouble to get contacts. So now I am back to wearing glasses again. I don't mind it most of the time, but I am 27 and single and sometimes I just don't want to wear them! ;)
